Steven Beo RHS class of 2016

Apparently Coach Rose was up in Richland Washington watching this kid play earlier this week. He hit the game winning 3 with 2.5 seconds left against Chiawana. He scored 49 points to open league play this year against Wenatchee. Does anyone know who Steve Beo is? Does anyone know if he is a member of the church? Just curious as to why Rose is looking at a 6'2" shooting guard and not a 7'0 bruiser?

We have 6 or more bigs committed on the roster until 2019-2020.



We currently have 6 or less guards/wings starting in 2016-17.



So that is 6 bigs to play two spots and less than 6 guards/wings to play 3 spots. We need more wings. But you have a strong, athletic guard play the 3 too. So it appears we are looking for good players who are guards.



I don't think Rose recruits players with the intent to release players currently on the roster.



In other words we need more players KC's size and athletic ability. We have enough guys 6'8" plus to compete. Maybe Rose has missed on these bigs and the ones we have are no good enough.



On Steve Beo he appears to fringe 2 star recruit right now.

Yes, on the roster we have some bigs, who have little to no offensive game and get eaten alive by any decent center/PF on defense. This needs to get turned around for BYU to compete, even with the slew of lone peak graduates and other guards headed for BYU. Mika alone won't be enough either, but he was a good start.

Rose is going to the the 4 forward lineup around that time.

If half of those forwards can play with their back to basket, I'll take it.

Post ups are one of the least efficient shots in the game...but let's make sure we build our team for post-ups.



A little sarcastic, I know, and yes we need a guy we can throw it to around the paint to get us a bucket every now and then.



And I know I sound like a broken record, but the 2 bigs who were supposed to be playing this year are injured, one of which has a back to the basket game. Worthington and Kaufusi (although Corbin could develop into more) are what you want coming off the bench, eating up the bench minutes while being tough.
