If you get invited to participate in the AD's survey this season about gameday experience at LES, make sure to let Tommy know that the amount of advertising and sponsorship plain sucks.

Done and done. I also made it know that the ribbons and scoreboards need to be used to display more in game stats and scores and stats from around the NCAA.

Forgot to mention C'Corner, but I did suggest, with embedded link, that they do something akin to Baylor's "In-Game" stadium app. It blew my mind this fall in Waco. When there was a close play, you whip out your phone and run your own instant replays with pause, slo-mo, and rewind functions, not to mention up-to-the-minute stats/facts/news from the game.

My only fear is if BYU did something like this, how would they find a way to completely render it useless with advertising and/or sponsorships?

You didn't appreciate that Grandma Sycamores was responsible for BYU 3rd down conversions?

I'd pay $3/per seat that I have to go towards a fund to buy out the professors (allegedly) house who is responsible for only letting the sound project in 1 direction. That flat out sucks. And if we can't buy it from him for $240k I'll still donate the $3 for a new cougar corner tradition of toilet papering him before each game day.

Also that Bronco can be a bit condescending to fans.

Oh, and that BYU is the only sports venue in the nation where bottled water is contraband.

I worked at Rio Tinto last year in concessions and they made us take the caps off bottled water/soda--though they backed off on that by the end of the season. And most places you can't bring your own bottles in regardless of what's in them.

Did the survey, mentioned better use of the ribbon and video boards. Getting individual stats during the game, not just team stats that were confusing to see. I also offered my assistance at getting the individual stats and putting them up on the boards if nobody currently employeed knows how to do it.

I also mentioned to let us see the freaking replays of the plays under review or questionable plays, that has to be one of the more frustrating things during the game!

I also like the fireworks but told them they seem to get more lame each game. The first game is all out, with fireworks on the field, off the press boxes and even after the game, but at the last game of the year it seemed they had 2 guys run out on the field with a couple of sparklers in their hands.

Your last point is spot on. They aren't holding anything back as the season goes on. It's like the marketing dept or game day experience dept comes up with one game plan for the season and then apply the exact same plan to every game with no changes.

So by the time game three rolls around, we've already seen the 3rd-4th qtr break routine (ok, we'll put up some huge sheets that say something cool, and then Cosmo will run out and dance a little jig) so many times we're not interested in getting pumped up.

If you're not going to put any effort into garnering my support, lukewarm support is what you'll get in return.

The whole in-game experience is tried, tired and overused. It never changes. Heck, they still use the EXACT SAME INTRO for the Marching Band that they've been using since I went to my first game in LES in 1995 (the powerful percussion, the sensational sounds, your Cougar Marching Band!).

What really sucks about single game ticket prices is that when I commit to buying season tickets including the FCS games in November it turns out I can get better seats for less money if I just by single games. Of course that's my gamble that we'll actually have a good season and people will want the tickets.

My suggestion was to hire whoever has been in charge of the basketball atmosphere to move over to the football. they have done a great job at het basketball games.
