Kalani Sitake on the Move

Leaving the 6th in the PAC12 team (5th in the South) to be the DCoord at the 11th team (worst in the North) Oregon State team.



This has got to hurt the egos of some Ute fans.

Wow, but maybe he needed to move on for new experiences and hopefully a HC job somewhere.

I wonder if Vai will write about Utah chasing off their only Polynesian coaches on staff?

After an interview with Gary Anderson today (I missed the interview but caught the discussion afterwards) it sounds like Anderson and Sitake are tight and when Utah came back to offer Sitake a deal, they offered him an increase in pay but just 2 years--thinking that would be enough to keep him from bolting. They obviously underestimated the damage that not extending his contract did as Sitake values loyalty above $$$.



And if you believe the rumors making the rounds, this doesn't end the internal issues going on at the "school on the hill" so there may still be additional fallout. Not to mention that Sitake was a big time recruiter in state (Rivals lists 8 of his 12 commits from Utah) as well as with their guys out of Florida (Rivals lists 4 of his 12 commits from Florida).

And it gets worse: Dave Christensen is leaving for a co-OC/running game coordinator job at Texas A&M. That means Utah will have their 8th OC (coach or co-coach combo) in 8 consecutive years in 2015.

Dan Mullen did just win the coach of the year in his 6th season at Mississippi State. If he returned, we very well might see Brian Johnson return with him (currently QB coach there) with the Whittingham regime gone.
