How to watch Cal game?

The irony of independence is we have to go to a power conference venue to get blacked on TV coveraege for the first time this year. Apparently the Pac12 network isn't on directTv. How are you guys getting the game?



This feels like trying to watch a BYU game back in the MTN TV days.

It is on the Dish network. I am going to a pizza place that carries the Dish.

Yeah, I'll be using my imagination to watch this one as I listen to KSL.

Turns out my parents have obscure channels, like the PAC one, and we've got family in town for Thanksgiving break, so I'll kill two birds.

I'll be listening on KSL for this one too. Love me some Greg Wrubell. It's not watching or being there live, but hey, he is good. I'll be putting together furniture. I'm divorcing and moving. It's pretty much the coolest thing ever. Not really. For me guys, and I'll just say it, I could really f*****g appreciate a win at Cal about now. And that is an okay thing.



CStew, just go be the badA that you are. D-line, pressure the hell out of their QB. I do not like that man, Sam I am. Receivers, you have got to have it, play after play. And Cougar secondary, you have got to lay the hit, hold them back, and intercept that ball a few times.



I like the intrigue of this game too for Cal's bowl chances. I think they're a little afraid. Their loss to Stanford was ugly.



Go Cougs, I'll take a guess at 35-24. The big plays will give me pause as I set up a new living room.

Watching at the in-laws. Certain sacrifices have to be made for Cougar sports.

A good game for a little distraction from the harsh realities of the D word. I hope you don't have any kids but even if you do, and I know it sounds cold, but do your best to put it all behind you as quick as you can. Having been there and done that I know there is no real cure, all you can do is not let it mess you up. Good luck brother!

Yes indeed, loving the support. And man, this was just a great game. This one has some instant classic feel to it.



Some of the offensive fireworks just looked (ok, sounded awesome). CStew has been a freakin hero. And Jordan Leslie, I wamt five more of him. Scott Arellano, a quiet, but big-time contributor.



Loved the 4 down defensive stop to seal the deal. This was great.

Ditto. I wish you a quick time healing from the wounds that are suffered when going through divorce. I hope the game provided you a little respite from what must be a difficult time.

I don't think it was simply beating Cal, but using that game as a measuring stick to see if they really were still competitive and would have a shot in the bowl game or if they simply were able to beat up on the patsies. Cameron Treu of Bam Bam's BBQ (travelled with the team to away games) may have said it best:



"Last night I had the privilege of watching @byufootball take on Cal here in CA with my great friend @deucehad. I just want to say that I will always remember this team! They were put through the ringer. They watched as many of their team mates fell to injuries, they lost 4 straight games after starting 4-0, they watched their coaches and their program get ripped to shreds by their own fans, and not once did they hang their heads and feel sorry for themselves, coaches included. Not once did they give up, they are all great examples of fortitude, grit, and determination. They finished strong and fought until the end winning their last 4 games. Last night I saw players run off the field bleeding and bruised, their energy was infectious! Byu has had some great seasons. This season has to be one of, if not the greatest, of them if overcoming adversity is factored in. Talk about pulling yourself up by your cleat straps!

Funny that you should post this. I was thinking something similar about Christian Stewart. When Taysom went down, I flat out did not like Stewart. And for the next four games he kept doing things that reminded me why I didn't like him. But slowly I came around to the great story that he is. By all accounts a good kid. A good kid who has football as the correct priority. He came back to BYU after junior college simply to finish his education, rather than play football. He was asked to rejoin the team, he did, and look at him now. Although looking at him physically,a nd looking at his stats, there is nothing is special about him, he'll never be one of the greats, he has definatly earned the title of "BYU quarterback", warts and all. Wouldn't we all love to have the opportunity to do that exact thing? And how many of us, if given the chance could actually do it? Have both the physical skills, and the mental toughness to do what he did? I'm guessing not many. I flat out like this guy.
