Who will get us a 10 win season

My vote is totally contingent upon Harvey's return. If he comes back, then I think you let him shoulder the load and put the freshman in IF he proves he is the most capable PASSER through spring and fall ball.



However, should Harvey not return as I suspect he won't, and IF Riley begins to showcase his arm with some success in spring camp as I suspect he will, then I like Riley from the standpoint that our offense would see a total overhaul that nobody in the conference would have seen before and he gives us another running option.



Now, IF a Harvey does leave and IF another RB (or committee) steps up to show they can shoulder the load to take the heat off of Jake, should he prove to be the most capable passer, then I would think Jake could take us farther. But I still think Riley ought to be utilized in packages throughout the game to throw defenses off and give Jake a mental breather every now and then.

Put Metallicat in and let him do his thing. ;)

Seriously, this will be his biggest challenge since his first season. I think Heaps has the tools to beat out Riley in the spring, but I don't think Anae and Bronco will go with a true freshman since Nelson will be a junior and has so much time invested.



I am not expecting 10 wins next season, but the season after that. I see a season similar to what USC went through this year breaking in a new QB and losing a lot of talent on defense.

Honestly, a 10 win season next year cements Bronco as being the greatest football coach BYU has ever had.

I don't see us winning 10 games next year. I think we finish 8-4 with a bowl appearance so maybe 9-4.

Neither will be back for Spring.

Obviously - this is total speculation. I would venture - neither Bronco or Anae know.

They will wait till spring practice - then form opinions fairly rapidly. I wouldn't be surprised if Jake is redshirted.

Most definitely agree. I'm setting my expectation bar at 8 wins next year. If we get to 9 or even more it will be a simply wonderful season.

I dunno guys, I trust Bronco and I trust the system he's installed at BYU. I'm not guaranteeing a double-digit win season again next year, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me.

9 wins with true freshman qb (even the #1 recruit in the country) would be a huge accomplishment and something no other MWC team could do.

Munns won't be back in time, but I'm pretty sure Lark gets back in the next couple weeks.

Our schedule is such that I don't think it will matter who the QB is for what I consider 8 lock wins or our 2 certain losses. The only games in question will be the UW and Utah games. At this second, I still think Heaps is the better option, mostly because he's not 5-10 and he can throw well. After spring, I think he'll be the guy for sure. If it's not going to effect our schedule too much, I say start with Heaps to get him D1 experience and get him ready for 2011-2013.

You are missing Neveda, and I would put them in the Don't know spot. Off the top of my head, they are returning a good portion of their offense, and since it is run based, it will really challenge our new front seven.
