Hill injury.

Based on the videos I've seen, the worst that could be expected is a PER type ankle fracture. (Pronation External Rotation). His season would be finished, he would need surgery and the ankle may never be the same. Ankle twisting "out" vs "in" is never good.



Good luck Taysom. Hopefully it was a painful sprain, but it didn't look good.

From the looks of things, he's more than likely out for the season.

Not all ankle fractures are created equal. But he's likely out for the year.

If it's a broken ankle - this could have long term deficits. Ankles are tricky things to get right after they are broken. All running QB's get jacked up - eventually. This is tragic news.

Again, not all fractures are equal in the ankle. But Hill's mechanics of that leg/ankle relationship were ideal for the worst possible type of fracture.

Could be, but I'd say unlikely. Medial malleolus, Lateral malleolus (or fibular fracture above ankle joint), Likely PER type fracture which certainly will take a while to heal up.

I agree it will take awhile. I fractured my left leg playing basketball at college and it took a good 3 months to heal. I'd be surprised to if he played again this season.

I think this means that he'll go pro. Too many people have gone for his legs and ankles this year for him not to go

That exact injury is why the horsecollar tackle was outlawed. The tackle on Hill was basically the equivalent of a horsecollar.

It's the end of the 3rd Qtr. USU 35, BYU 17. With "TH" done - this game is a loss. Done. Basically, the Coug '14 season just got flushed. Genuinely tragic. What a special year this would have been with TH.

Except, USU had this all but wrapped up WITH TH. Just goes to show how difficult it is to go undefeated in NCAAF. Especially with a blue chip team like BYU. Maybe next year?

We just saw the last game for Taysom Hill in a BYU uniform. No way he comes back to run this offense at 25 years old if he has any desire to play in the NFL.
