I think USU is going to lay an egg. And it's a shame to not have chuckie playing again in LES. BYU always shut him down. But he's a great athlete and it would have been fun to see him play vs BYU one more time.

It was expected so no opinion.

Neither, because whether he played or not it wouldn't make any difference. USU has stepped down a notch in their play this year. They are not as good as they have been the last few years and BYU is a whole lot better than they have been the last few years. This game would not be close no matter who plays at QB for USU.

Now if it was CK pre-injury then they would have a shot at it.

I think this will be closer than a lot are expecting. For the same reasons as the Utah games were often closer. Last years game vs USU saw CK go down and it clearly demoralized the team. This year I'm sure they will give BYU their best shot after a disappointment AK state game and the chance to avenge the last couple losses.

Remington Peck is vindicated after Coach Wells calls him out about knowing more that the coach. We have a mole/insider.

Either way we bottle the QB up. USU has not had any dual threat success against us.

Yeah, how shocking was that for Wells to act so astonished at a presser earlier this week at such news. I guess it was either because he had been scooped, or...afterwards he goes, "Hmmm, not a bad idea to have Chuckie back. Why didn't we think about that."



Obviously it was the former.

Or he was waiting for a Dr. for clearance as announced earlier this week and then the doctor report was not good.

Chuckie did not look like he was back to his old self even before he went down again. For that reason, they are probably in trouble either way. They will scrap and play hard, but it will not be enough.

I selected bad, and not because I think Garrettson comes in and works the backup QB magic against BYU, but because it's fun to see good college players play football.



Chuckie pre-injury last year was fun to watch.

He was and I would want to see him Friday if he was healthy. I am very glad that his aggravation of that injury did not come playing against us. Too much Deja vu if it did.

So far Garrettson (minus one meaningless fumble due to BYU offensive ineptness) has looked great. Is playing great against the secondary of BYU.



That secondary has yet to live up to the hype we were all hearing about in spring and fall. I don't think "meh, doesn't matter" is going to apply here.

This is what happens when a team abandons the high risk, high reward, high octane running man offense and collides with a cocky, unprepared, defense.

This is not just irony that two dark horse Heisman candidate QBs are now out and some no-name QB just lit up the Cougs. Go figure!!! Screw the running man routine and resurrect the drop back passing attack. Get it started now! Mangum is a drop back passer with legit skill. If Anae can't adjust to that incoming talent, he needs to get out! Let's see how he does now with a drop back passer who could scramble if he needs to but should not be compromised because the third stringer is all but a walk-on.

Difference being, that time the DC was intentionally calling a bad game because he got vetoed by his boss during the week and didn't like it. Pretty sure Howell wasn't throwing the game to spite Bronco....at least I hope not.

First time I have heard this. Tough to imagine any coach trashing his career to spite his boss.



BTW, Bronco did say that he had to tell Howell to ramp up the aggressiveness of the defense at halftime. Howell complied. And it made a difference. Odd that he had to tell him.
