I figured as much as my ticket tells me to wear royal blue this week.

It would be an awesome permanent change to make in the middle of an undefeated season. Mods would agree, that would be badass!!!

Agreed. I'm actually ok with the white or royal. White might be easier for people, and it did look AWESOME at the Virginia game. But either way would be better than Navy.



However, Navy probably works better late in the season when it's freezing cold outside. Not many people own white or royal cold weather gear.

Mixed feelings here, as I genuinely think the navy looks better. HOWEVER - before everyone starts in with their thumbs down: If we want to maintain a more unique look, the Royal Blue is the way to go. Bring it on.



By the way, my letter jacket is Royal Blue!

I always loved the royals more than anything else. It pops more than any other color we've tried and it is uniquely BYU. I don't know why more wouldn't clamor for this change.

If you handed me two of the same shirt but one was royal and one was navy blue, I'd choose the navy.



That said, I like the royal better as our uniform. Pops and it's unique.

The navy color clothing for many fans, though preferable, was at the time of change and is currently, at some level a form of an apologist and/or closet fan; and/or some attempt to seem more "business-like" and more conventional. If fans really wanted to show their true colors and wear that gear in public, they would not turn on Royal fan gear and pick out other Navy clothing if they like that so much.

On game day or even the day before, Go to Austin. Go to Manhatten Kansas. Go to Norman, and Stillwater and Lincoln, etc, etc. and you will see fans wearing gear, even if unconventional colors, because they love their team and their true colors.

It's time to slough off the apologists and the embarrassed and be loyal to royal, strong and true blue.

If royal were re-adopted how often would the color committee have a "NAVY-BLUE-OUT"? Exactly! Never! They would white out and black out!

I am in the minority on this, apparently. I prefer the Navy uniforms.



However, if the school promised they would never, ever, EVER wear the ugly white on white combination at home or on the road again, they could do almost anything with the jerseys and I'd be fine with it.



If they did go back to the royal blue, I'd hope for more than one game with black jersey's every year though (3 royal, 3 black) and they could wear all three different color pants with the black uniforms (black, white, royal).

I just added in code last night to specifically disallow anonymous and bot voting. I'd removed the visible up and down arrows before, but hadn't actually coded in checks to prevent it from those that could figure out the address.

I love the royal blue. I wear 1-2 royal blue BYU shirts per week, every week. I had a royal blue jacket that I continued to wear after the color change clear into 2012, when it was deemed too dingy for public use by my wife. I wore it to Lavell's last game at Rice-Eccles. I wore it to the 2001 and 2007 Utah games, when I rushed the field. I still have it, and if I make it to the game Friday, I'm busting it out again. It's the most perfect jacket ever constructed, mostly because it is royal blue, and if they were to start making it again, I would immediately buy at least two.



If fans aren't wearing your colors, it's not a color problem, it's a fan problem, and that's the mistake we made in '99. Look at the terrible stuff fans of teams like Oregon are wearing. There's enough nasty neon yellow-green in Autzen that I'm pretty sure my eyes would melt if I ever attended a game there.

I'm with stuckinbig10: I prefer the navy and I can't stand the white-on-white. I also don't care for the navy-on-navy or royal-on-royal.



I like the occasional royal uniforms for nostalgia's sake, but putting royal on royal kind of defeats the purpose of looking "traditional."

i like both. generally navy looks better but the stadium and main color for uniforms should be royal. it pops way better and brings more attention i think.
