Games That Matter The Most Week 5

Okie State gave up 35 points to T Tech, but won anyway. So maybe they are vulnerable to lose another game or two at some point so we can jump them later if they jump us this bye week. UCLA whipped ASU making the UVA and Texas outcomes Vs UCLA look better. Hopefully, a blowout loss to a Top 10 UCLA will be enough for #15 ASU drop behind BYU even though we have a BYE.

ASU should drop completely out of the rankings after that shellacking. You got run out of the stadium by an overrated UCLA team that is only undefeated by virtue of a muffed coin toss=you don't belong in the top 25.

A couple interesting stats from the UCLA ASU game Arizona State had 627 yards of total offense and held the ball for 34.00 minutes. Shouldnt lose games like this however they also gave up two 80 yard touchdown passes and a 95 yard pick six.

Again, this goes to show that yards and TOP are overrated, gotta score, and if you can score quickly, all the better.

MTSU won Friday night on the road. This is not huge news, but they are quietly amassing a winning record and probable bowl eligibility.

I just realized that this thread is somewhat duplicate of Rooting Guide thread although it is intended to focus on teams that are ranked ahead of or very close behind BYU and games our opponents are playing.



Nevertheless. I will not be offended at all if you choose to merge it into that one - or not.

California hung on to beat Colorado in OT.

Texas started slow, but went on to shut out Kansas.

Washington picked up a loss

Minnesota creamed Michigan - thought I would toss this one in

Virginia won.

Unfortunately Connecticut lost.

Louisville had to start a freshman QB, but won anyway. Remember that Virginia beat UNLV which is why this one helps BYU.

Boise State unfortunately lost to Air Force. Maybe the good news will be that they struggle defending option plays. I know AFA is a different animal. They were terrible last year. Better this year.

Utah choked and lost by 1 at home

South Carolina lost. Hope they fall far enough. Cincinnati got their first loss. Helps keep them out of the Cinderella path. Miami won. Louisville beat Miami week 1. Virginia beat Louisville week 3. This all helps BYU.
