Ideas for 4th Quarter Intro

A few people have mentioned a desire to see BYU do something between the 3rd and 4th quarters to get the fans roused at LES. Last year they did the four flag tower/building thing that works in the Marriot Center, but fell flat in the larger LES.



So, what ideas have you? I agree that this is a need, so this thread is a place to put forth your suggestions.



Here's my entry--I like what we did at my HS--As soon as the 3rd quarter wrapped up, the loudspeakers blared "Right Now" by Van Halen, and the scoreboard showed the lyrics over a highlight video from years past. The entire stadium sang/shouted the song and got pumped by being reminded of glories past. It was only a 5-year old or so tradition, but everyone knew what to do and did it.

Of course, BYU would ruin it--"Cougar fans! Please stand up and join us in a rousing rendition of "Right Now," brought to you by Xfinity online streaming, the internet provider that brings you what you want, 'right now', every time, and by RC Willey, your official BYU furniture and appliance provider that can give you credit for that thing you don't need right now, "right now.""

And don't forget the mini marketing campaign to get fans all on the same page. I still cringe at the thought of the YouTube video they put out for basketball the other season instructing all the fans on what to do..."Now we sing Journey!"



Here's my idea, show a video of the greatest BYU tackles/hits. Put the video to some music like "right now" or some other similar song.



Another idea would be to show three BYU highlights and have the crowd vote/cheer for their favorite. A random section in the stands then gets a prize - like a coupon to Hogi Yogi (are they still around?).

We would need shorter clips and more highlights. Missing games include OU '09, Utah '09, Ole Miss '11, Utah State '11, Armed Forces Bowl '11, Poinsettia Bowl '12, Houston '13.



It would definitely need big hits interspersed with the comeback highlights. Stuff like Wynn getting crushed by Pendleton, Bradford getting hit by Clawson, the Matt Payne return hits on Boise, and this one:

It's such a great idea - like tailgating - to build spirit and camaraderie - not at BYU.

I actually liked the 4 banners with the music last year.



How about Cosmo riding out on a Harley with a huge BYU flag and drive it all around the field with any Van Halen song? They could get a sponser from the Harley dealer in Lindon.

Perhaps they could let a live/hungry cougar lose to chase the other teams mascot, that may be of interest to the crowd. They could play Thunderstruck while this went on.

Just play any song by AC/DC and call it good.

I also liked the 4 big sheet walls.
