Olanrewaju's penalty was the drive killer there. Micah Kiser called for fair catch interference, giving BYU a free 15 yards. Cougars would've been pinned inside the 10.



That's 2 cheap penalties for the home team...

That was a bulls+++ call. The only thing Kiser hit was the outstretched arm of the PR. If anything, that should be unsportsmanlike conduct against BYU.

That's a really nice zone blitz by BYU truthfully. Great rotation by Daniel, not a terrible initial read - he will get smarter and recognize that with more experience. Gotta stick with Greyson here.

UVa forced to punt. BYU returns it to 50. There was a hold on that return that wasn't called. A sure sign is when the offending blocker throws his hands up in innocence.



We can actually run on BYU. This would be the game to hammer the ball into the line.

We've been pretty bad across the board in the second half. Defense has gotten abused. Special Teams gave up a horrible return. Offense has stalled out. I thought we looked good in the first half but second half performance has been awful.

I love how (1) UVa fans seemed to think the commentators, Matt Millen especially, were anti-UVa, and (2) UVa fans thought BYU was getting kid-glove treatment from the refs.



Just goes to show that in a well-called game, both fan bases will think the commentators and the refs are biased in favor of the opponent.

I'd like to see exactly what all the crying is about with dirty plays... Usually if a team plays dirty the other team has something to say about it after the game.

Any complaints from UVA players post game?

One guy in particular was way over the top. The other guts just seemed to ignore him. Some good 1 liners.

Ironically, the date my son brought to the game had never been to a BYU game before and had just returned from being a MISSIONARY in Charlottesville. Clearly some anti-war money sentiment on this thread. They sound like Utena Trolls at times.

Too true! I've witnessed both and it's not even close! People around here call those kinds of mountains "foothills".

Been to Charlottesville multiple times. Technicolor had a DVD and CD duplicating operation there. Beautiful town, countryside and HILLS. Nothing at all like The Rockies.

Once again, we're "dirty."

Very interesting how skewed fans can be. Almost makes me ashamed of my own comments regarding officiating bias against our Cougars. Except for all their F bombs, I might sound as ridiculous to them as they sounded here to me. Still, having said that, I am puzzled by their expectations that we not put a legal hit on their QB when we can, lest we be called "dirty thugs" or, what was it---"MoMos?" This seems incongruous while speaking their own yearnings for some hard blows on Taysom Hill.



Perhaps this gang does not represent the best of Cavalier fandom. UVA must also have some very nice and dignified fans beside the yahoos.

Grew up in Vegas, school at the Y, now living in Virginia.

I had the same reaction, but I think the dude's referring to age, not height with his comment on Utah's mountains being "infants." Which is true, the Appys are way older--which is why they're barely more than nubs.



And I took my younguns with me to the game in Charlottesville last year; we sat by some really great UVA fans, and sheltered from the hurricane in a bus stop against several more.



I was surprised by the level of turdiness of these posters.

BYU has been very aggressive on defense. Often they do have a guy falling on the pile late, and it was called a few times vs Uconn. Also the only really cheap shot I saw was when Lambert got hit with a helmet to the chest after he had released the ball, also didn't help that the BYU player appeared to jump into him an didn't put his arms out. Other than that, just typical fan whining (we do plenty of it around here on the game day thread, me included).
