I'm super not-impressed with the way Blackmon returns punts. He does that little run backwards 5 yards circle every time. It may work once in a while, but I always like guys who will grab the ball and get positive yards.

If he turn it up field for 15-20 after doing his -3yard curl, I'm fine with it.

We were talking about that during the game. Here's our analysis:



He's never played at D1 speed, in HS and in Juco, he was able to stutter step and make defenders commit, then run around them. He has to learn not to do that at this level. When he takes a step and goes, he'll be a serviceable, or better, PR.

How come we have not seen Nelson from Stanford, return punts? Has he seen the field yet?

Dont overlook another potential huge problem and that is the way he carries the football. Its out there--ripe for the picking. He will fumble it this year. Bet money UVA has taken note.
