Turnovers and penalties tell the real story. Looking at these numbers and watching the game it should have easily been a 20+ point win. A lot of positives to take away from the game, however. At this stage of the season I think a win coupled with doses of humility will prove beneficial in the long run. Go Cougars!

Agreed, plus a little luck on the part of Houston (accompanied by some calls in their favor by the officials and the game was much closer than it should have been). Same exact script as last year but BYU had built a bigger lead before luck and officials put them back in the game. I am glad BYU won but this win will not impress any voters.

Hopefully a couple of teams ahead of BYU in the polls lose today and impress the voters even more ;)

The problem right now is that so few ranked teams are playing anyone with a prayer of beating them. First three weeks are so filled with garbage games. It mattreth, not. BYU needs to focus on beating Virginia. That is all that matters right now.

VT getting drubbed right now, Virginia looking like the better team in their game, and UCF with a small lead (those two could really help us if they win since they're playing ranked opponents and on our schedule).
