Max Hall Caught Thiev'n and Drug'n

Max Hall got arrested in Arizona for shoplifting and cocaine was found in his backpack. Tough time for him and his family, obviously. Hopefully, this is rock bottom for him and he turns it around. Double sad part, he's wearing a BYU t-shirt in his mug shot...

Agreed.....but I don't expect anything less from them. Be prepared to see that picture everywhere and at every BYU/Utah game going forward.



I hope Max can turn things around. I also feel for his poor wife, wow. If you recall his wife's sister is Dennis Pita's wife. The whole situation is very sad.

I agree, hopefully this will be the catalyst for him to clean up. This really just makes me feel sick to my stomach. You just never know what goes on behind the scenes and this is a terrible way to bring things to light.

Too bad. I wonder if drugs are for football related pain or just a lack of excitement in his life now that he's not on the field. Then again he could just be prone to that. Hopefully he gets it cleaned up because its not anyone's business.

First and foremost, I feel bad for Max and his family. It is tough when personal issues in life become public for the whole world to see. Such is the day and age in which we live. I hope he can get it figured out and turn things around. Secondly, I hate it when an entire fan base is so casually painted with such a wide brush. There will be those in the Ute fan ban base who will milk this for all that they can, and I am sure there will be others in the Ute fan base (who you will never hear from), who will hope that an individual that is making poor life decisions will be able to turn their life around and get back on track. Isn't that the case with all fan bases, BYU's included?

We are alluding to those Utah fans that will poke fun at Max. There will no doubt be Utah fans looking to take advantage of the situation. No one stated all Utah fans feel this way or will act in this manner, but without a doubt there will be a good number of fans who act like this just like the rival of any university out there. Not sure who was casually painted a certain way, that fact is there are Utah fans that will get a kick out of this.



I for one have been on your side not painting all Utah fans a certain way, I tend to have less of blue goggles. But lets call a spade a spade and we will know full well what will be said.

Man, that is rough. I hope Max gets the help he needs.

Who knows how long Max has been struggling with substance abuse. Likely scenario is he may have had some issues before arriving at BYU, was able to get/stay clean, and then outside of BYU and football the issues re-emerged. Can't be easy for a guy like Max, who's passion and self-identity was so closely tied to playing football, to go from being the man at BYU and playing in the NFL to an assistant coach at Gilbert, High.

The parts that bother me the most are that he is an RM and it is being mentioned and that he was wearing a BYU shirt (which this reflects on BYU and the chruch and not so much on the football team). I really hope he does get things turned around and back on track. Good luck Max!
