The goals for BYU are:



1. To win the National Championship

2. To go to a NY6 bowl game

3. To achieve the highest ranking possible

4. To win as many games as possible

5. To be bowl eligible and play the best bowl team possible

6. To be better than Utah



If you want to see these goals accomplished here is your rooting guide:



A. Cheer for BYU. Duh.



BYU over Texas



B. Cheer for the team playing Utah. If we need help from Utah in any way then it is not worth having.



Fresno St. over Utah



C. Cheer for BYU’s opponents. This helps SOS.



Boise St. Over Colorado St.

Houston over Grambling St.

UNLV over Northern Colorado

Virginia over Richmond

Nevada over Washington St.

Cal over Sacramento St.

MTSU over Minnesota

Connecticut over Stony Brook

USU over Idaho St.

Savannah St. over Georgia Southern



D. Cheer for teams playing teams ranked ahead of BYU. If both teams are ranked cheer for the team with more probable losses in their future (Of course rules A-C trump rule D).

E. Cheer for our Opponents’ opponents unless they are playing our opponents. This helps our SOS in virtually every SOS calculation. The more connected a team is to our opponents the more you should cheer for them (unless it violates rules A-D). Air Force is the most connected team to our opponents as they play 4 games against them (Boise St., Nevada, UNLV, Utah St.). The number by the team indicates how connected they are. If the numbers are equal take the team who has lost or will most likely lose to our opponents.

New Mexico St. over Georgia St. (NMSU has played us in the past.)

Idaho over Louisiana Monroe (Same reason as rooting for NMSU)

This early in the season, it is amazing how many games are being played that should never even be scheduled. SEC and Big 12 seem to be the biggest offenders, but yeah -half of the P5 this week, last week, and probably next week.



Then real football gets going. BYU is reverse. Real football started week 1. Silliness comes later - Savannah State

SMU getting killed 29-0 by North Texas. The team the Texas Longhorns throttled last week.

Now its 43-0 North Texas does this change any ones thoughts on today's game with Texas?

43-6 is the final and UConn wins a squeaker.

I just saw this and it scares me a little. Especially since UConn won by a point against....Stony Brook.

Which is why preseason and early-season polls are ridiculous. Many of these teams squeaked by FCS or otherwise very poor opponents.

That and our win will have more to do with Texas not being as good as expected not BYU being legitimate.
