There is a very strong hunting population here. I personally don't care too much for hunting, but I really do enjoy collecting and shooting guns.

Amen, especially since it is a little easier to get ammo than it was 9 months ago.

For me, opening Saturday of the deer hunt is the only acceptable reason to miss a BYU football game on the third Saturday of October.

My favorite hunting joke:

these three guys die and go up to heaven where they are met by St. Peter. Before admitting them to the Kingdom, he asks their names. The first guy gives his name and Peter looks it up in this huge book. He finds it and says, "Hmm. IQ of 175. That's great. Did you get your PhD?" The man replies. "Yes" and St. Peter says. "We can use people like you up here. You may enter."

He asks the 2nd guy his name, looks it up, and says, "IQ of 148. Dis you get your Masters?" the man indicates that he did, etc, etc, and Peter lets him in.

He asks the 3rd man his name, looks it up and says, "IQ of 84. Did you get your deer?"

I told that in Kanab a number of years back and I thought they were going to tar and feather me and run me out of town on a rail.
