Good news and bad.

The good news is that Boise looks VERY winnable.



The bad news is that we need them to win a lot because they are one of the top teams on a very short list of our quality opponents.

They had plenty of opportunities in this one and it eventually got away from them: the final score is deceiving. Sucks for us.

Everything will work out fine if BYU wins all their games. There will not be a national championship. So get over that now. Deck is stacked. Unfortunately, we are going to lose 2 or 3 games - most likely. We will be ranked if we are 10-3 or 11-2.

And thus we see the start of the post Chris Peterson coaching era at BSU. I have said it all off season, BSU is going to have a down year this year and it is because of coaching. Chris Peterson has been the catalyst of their success for many years, even before he became the head coach. They are going to struggle this year, and will not be one of BYU's losses.

Truth. All except the last part, which still remains to be seen, but should be true.

Many times, teams with a new coaching staff struggle badly until experience works out the kinks. See BYU Vs UVA for example. Hopefully Texas struggles a bit with this along with UCONN. Does Houston have a new staff or was that a year ago? Will Utah have a new staff next time we play them?

Yeah, most of the first half was just awful football. At least there were some big hits to make up for some of it.

All of my "Boise 4 life" buddies where appropriately brought back to reality, which is always a good day for me.

I still think BSU will be a tough game for us.

I agree. The final score makes this game seem lopsided and makes BSU look like a bad team, but they blew several chances in the red zone to take the lead and momentum. They'll play tough and probably have those kinks worked out by the time we get to them.

We're a "rival" of their's, so like Utah no matter "down" they may be it probably won't mean much come game time.
