BYU-Washington Series Annouced

Love it. BYU continues to get P5 1:1 series. The way they are stacking up games it doesn't look like BYU is planning to join a conference in the near future.

Also disappointed though not surprised to hear Holmoe say today that the remaining Notre Dame games may have some games bought out.

09/29 - at Washington

10/05 - Utah State

10/20 - at Boise State

10/27 - Northern Illinois

11/17 - Hawaii

11/24 - at Utah



2019

08/29 - Wisconsin

Maybe Petersen helps us get the games. We have games scheduled with 9 of the 12 PAC teams over the next decade. It also seems to be easier to get P5 teams to schedule us and we are not giving 2-1's now.



I wonder how many second game of 2-1's we have left? Anyone know?

Wisconsin comes to mind--that was a 1 game for 2013 followed by a H-H announcement if that counts as a 2:1.

Notre Dame is another that was lopsided - 2 at home and 4 on the road. So far we only have played 2 of the away games with no dates on the remaining 2H/2A games.

We play the last of the Texas 2:1 this year, but I think that's it besides those mentioned.

Interesting note about Petersen: After coaching for years at Boise State, he recently responded to an ESPN poll voting that BCS teams should never play non-BCS teams. How quickly they change their tunes.

I am as quick as any to rip on Whit, but at least he gave some pause, attempting some neutrality, instead of emphatically stating in the negative.

Awe, man... I actually respected that guy! Now he's just a tool like all the others! So disappointing. What'd Gary Patterson say? What about Gary Anderson? I hope if we make it in that Bronco doesn't resort to the same 2-facedness as this.

On the other hand we're not getting 2:1s either like we used to with USU and others.

Don't worry about the ND series being lopsided. That series is done. They're not coming to Provo. Although I wouldn't rule out another trip or two to South Bend.

Bunch of their students got caught cheating, again. Supposedly a big no-no at ND. Kelly's seat just got a bit warm. Probably won't cost him a job, but should more surface ND could find themselves back in rebuilding mode. Never say never.

TH made comments yesterday that gave me the impression that series was essentially over.

The ND news really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, ND is well known for making agreements they have absolutely no intention of keeping.

Holmoe don't care how long it takes.


Holmoe kind of put up the question at Education Week, "What would you do? Would you wait it out longer or take the payout?" I believe his perception is that if you take a payout, then it is over. If you let it lag into the future, even if the possibility isn't high, it is still a possibility. So the question hanging out there is whether the probability is higher for a future in not taking the payout or isn't it? ND can easily spare the cost and BYU isn't going to live or die because of it. There would be arguments that could go either way in my thinking.
