If you were to tell me that Tavernari and Jimmer would be a collective 3-22 and that the team would still beat ASU by 13 points, well I'd have thought you unhinged and yet...there you have it. Unhinged and all....We won the game on the offensive boards, steals and turnovers it looks like...Thoughts?

Tav shows up for about 20% of the games, as where Jimmer probably hits a "slump" in about 20% of the games.

Dave Rose has discovered Noah Hartsock. It's nice to have a more traditional 4 for the 1st time in half a decade.



More Hartsock and less JT vs USU and we're undefeated.

Seriously, JT was 2-8 today, not great. Fredette was 1-13 (0-5 from 3-point range). Dang, let's bench Jimmer!

I just love how JT gets booed every time he misses a shot, but Jimmer gets cheered for going 1-13. Seriously, some fans need to pull their heads out!

How many times did JT's defense cost either an easy bucket or a foul on the person who had to help out?? Although JT hit some big shots tonight I'm all for him coming off the bench and letting Hartsock start. I can't say enough about the game Haws played tonight though. As for Jimmer the guy is going through a rough patch. 2 of his last 3 games have been sub-par.



Also, the Cougs REALLY need to work on some sort of an inside attack. At about the 7:00 minute mark in the second half I was getting worried when ASU made that huge run and our team looked completely lost on the offensive side of the ball. We were running around the perimeter like idiots when they should have just TRIED to dump it off to Miles and see if he could do anything. When you have NO inside game at all why should the other team worry about it. I mean let Hartsock see what he can do down low. He's got some nice post moves. Coach Rose really needs to incorporate some sort of scoring attack in the post to help balance the team a little more.

Probably because JT is consistently in slumps, and seems to pick the worst time to throw up his prayers. If Jimmer sucked it up in 80% of the games, I'd be mad at him, too.

That would still be more Hartsock and less JT based on their past numbers and minutes. The end result was a win over a good team. No need to pile on Jt, however Hartsock deserves praise.

It's pretty simple, JT is good.... enough to play second string.

It makes a big difference where the points are scored and if the shot attempts put pressure on the D.



Fredette primarily drives the ball to the hoop and uses his jumper to keep everyone honest.



Hartsock is more capable than JT in scoring around the basket. We need some scoring threats inside.

Instead of Tav bashing, let's get back to the BIG point: Jimmer and Tav have a bad game--3-23--and we still beat a 6-2 ASU team by 13...SOMEONE and SOMEHOW we picked it up to still win in a strong way. That excites me a lot

The friend who went to the game with me couldn't stand the student section. We heard some boos when JT came into the game. Bad mouthed him the entire game. And then cheered vociferously when he hit that three. He asked me, "Who will BYU fans love to hate on next year when JT's gone?" I thought for a minute then started hearing some snide comments about Jimmer missing too many shots. I said, "Jimmer. He'll be the next guy BYU fans turn on."
