More from Anae: "There were OL that started games last yr that will not travel this season."

Between this and the JW quote of breaking the rushing record this year--which presumably has as much to do with the Oline as it does BabyJ, WOW.

Is Anae just caught up in some serious hype? Is he just trying to tell Bronco to go back to the Defense and leave his Oline alone?

If these things are true and the Oline lives up to this hype, holy cow, what do we have in store for this year? This seems to exceed even my hype of a 2 loss season and a top 20 ranking.

Or, I guess, the above quote could mean that some last years guys have just gotten fat and out of shape or are injured. But I think Anae is meaning that there are that many new kids and/or RMs that the Oline is flush with talent and healthy players.

Thoughts?

Probably a little bit of both.

I think the OL will improve.

Contextually accurate--When you are not that good the previous year, it does not take much to be much improved. At face value, for me at least, hype until proven otherwise.

He did caution us last year about not being ready and he was right. I don't think Anae is as guilty of coach speak as most coaches--especially Bronco. I think it's always best to downplay anyway so people can be pleasantly surprised.

Or he's raising the expectatitions of those on the line.

Good. There were clearly some OL players that shouldn't have been starting last year but due to necessity were. Glad to hear we won't need them this year.

Great thought. He did say that and i thought it was a little n the excuse making side.

But, reading the Pikula comments on Toni Kanuch and of Broncos involvement with the Oline, hard not to believe at least some of the hype.

Don't forget that offensive prowess in practices may also be a sign that our defense is much weaker this year. Anae may be seeing that they look really good and think he's giving them an honest and realistic assessment when he is in fact reacting to the dynamic between THIS offense and THIS defense, which may have no bearing on any of the games.

I lean this way.
