Curious about your board

I was curious to stumble across your message board, in a sad sense of arrogance I guessed that I had gained at least familiarity with most of the BYU message boards that got any discussion on them, however your board seems to have a lot of traffic and screen names that are totally unknown to me. After nearly a decade of wasting time on various forums I am curious to the origins of yours, if one or many of you wouldn't mind sharing? I assume that at least some of you started off on C-Net, CougarBlue or CougarFan. Are any of you on CougarBoard, CougarGuard, CougarUteForum?

Quick history... This site originally started in order to play a prediction game based on stats and scores of BYU Football games. The original players were playing on CougarBlue, submitting their guesses in a post and some poor schmuck was entering the data into a spreadsheet and calculating it all by hand. Then this website was created in order to do all that automatically.



A few years later it seemed other active forums had become lazy and complacent, allowing trolls, continuing really poor layouts, etc. And people started to recognize that CougarCorner was a place where the best and the brightest congregated, the site design wasn't terrible - and the admins made improvements based by user input making things much better, and trolls were not tolerated. Thus, it grew in popularity to today.

I'm here because the court-ordered probation officer mandates that I post here - along with (as he says) "all the other miscreants who, if they weren't posting here, would pose a threat to society". :evil:

I started out on CougarBlue, but when the Herald (the paper that runs that forum) decided traffic was more important than substance, I bailed over here to this forum. I think this forum is unique because there is no profit motive. You'll notice there are no advertisements on here, and no subscription. Just a bunch of fans sharing opinions and insight (and joy and frustration).



This forum isn't widely advertised/promoted because (a) we are happy with a closer community, and (b) promotion brings trolls.

Started on Cougar Fan. Moved to Cougar Blue II. Then Cougar Blue now here. Still frequent Total Blue Sports and monitor Cougarboard, but rarely post there.

I'm here to pick up hot looking babes. :love: :love:

My board has a nail in it. I use it to chase Kodos and Kang.

Most of us fled Cougar Blue due to the admins not caring anymore about providing a quality product.



I'd post more at cougarboard, but I don't have a hot car, hot job, or hot wife, and I haven't paid for a membership so I am deemed a troll.

I don't generally have much to add, but I might attempt to on occasion.

That's not nice... I happen to think Schmoe looks pretty manly all geared up in his lacrosse stuff. It doesn't matter that lacrosse sucks, if he enjoys it.
