2015 Instate Recruiting - Good and Bad News

BYU already has the most important commitment from that group in Dayan Lake. I think BYU lands 3-4 of those guys, Utah about the same and the rest go out of state.

Given BYU's challenges in recruiting 4 star athletes as defensive backs, Lake might be the most important for BYU. But the Top 100 or so linebackers that are not even considering BYU are going to bump up the recruiting class ranking for someone.



BYU once owned instate recruiting other than 1 or 2 per year lost to a big name program. Times have changed.



The article did note that recruits from the Beehive State generally have slower times when clocked, but play faster because they are smart, well-coached, hard workers and thus more confident. Maybe that is why some languish at big programs and come back home later.
