Best of G5 Poll

Nobody but AAC and MWC are worthy of a vote imho, so I will lump all others as Other.



I will come back shortly with Team lineups based on 2015 when the dust finally settles in the AAC. Louisville and Rutgers will be gone this year. East Carolina and Tulane join up this year. Navy comes on board in 2015.



MWC remains unchanged from 2013.



There are various opinions about which conference and teams are most vulnerable to further raids, but poison pills seem to have ended P5 raids on each other which seems to have ended P5 raiding of G5 for now.



Generally, national experts seem to think PAC and Big 12 do not want to expand further. Other P5 conferences seem to look east and Big 10 took lowly Rutgers to buy an eastern market. Might they take UCONN? Might ACC take them or Cinci? Might Big 12 take Cinci or UCF? BYU gets some Big 12 intetest. MWC - not so much. MWC may be more stable than AAC and SDSU and BSU ditched AAC for MWC. AAC and MWC could try to raid each other and try to court BYU for membership or scheduling or bowl affiliation. The main advantage AAC and MWC have over BYU is Bowl access. Does AAC or MWC have any bowl access advantage over each other?

Take our 20 and 100 replace with 56 and 91 for AAC. They're pretty close. AAC has a better top 4.

Fixed it. The 2nd one was supposed to be SJSU.



Re the link above, you cannot compare the MWC which remains intact to the 10 team 2013 AAC which is losing its best team and losing Rutgers while adding Navy and two other mediocre at best teams.



When you say AAC has a better top 4 - are you including Louisville? They are gone.

Seems pretty close.

Whichever one BYU would join. However, there is no point going BACK to a G5 conference. The P5 isn't going to expand. They've already kicked out one member and if they can further consolidate their power they will.

As I indicated above and in another thread, Independence is slightly better than either of them. I am suggesting that we schedule both conferences and consider any scheduling alliance that would get us participation in a Bowl game vs their #1 team.



I think MWC #1, for example would be better suited playing highest ranked out of BYU and AAC than playing a middle of the PAC opponent in the Las Vegas Bowl. Same logic for AAC and their alliances.



I would love to see BYU in The Las Vegas Bowl with an improved Stadium or The Ski Bowl in an expanded LES vs best of MWC and AAC with out-clauses for the top team to go to the P5 Bowl slot.



There would be something of value in this arrangement for all parties.



BYU home and away with 4 teams from both conferences annually with a Bowl Alliance. Then BYU can try to add 4 P5 games home and away. U and USU should be protected and perhaps SDSU, AFA, and BYU could be locked up. The AAC could lock SMU, Houston, Tulsa, and Cincinnati.



When we fall short on finding P5, maybe add UNLV, SJSU, Hawaii, UCONN, UCF, USF, etc.



Stay independent. Stay WCC, but work in some OOC basketball and other games with AAC and MWC. Quit giving 2 for 1 and 1 and done.



Hope for an eventual P5 invite.
