Ho-Ching commits to BYU,

Yes, I expect to hear this afternoon.

If I were a betting man, I'd definitely put my money on BYU. The kid is a very upstanding kind of guy and fits the BYU mold perfectly.

I keep checking TBS...no word yet.

Who is Ho Ching? I don't remember hearing about him.

He is a 3-star LB from Alta High in SLC. Narrowed it down to BYU and Wisconsin. I think he qualifies for an academic scholarship as well, so that is helpful too. I think the large class at BYU is because a few of the guys do qualify academically for scholarships.



I hope he picks BYU. We will need this kid in a few years. The way I see it, he comes in a yer, redshirts, hits a mission, and plays in 4 years. By them, those stud non-LDS kids we have will almost be gone and wil be seniors or redshirt juniors. Stout and Keoshian and crew. Maybe even van Noy gone. So while this class has LB depth, the mission affects some, and not others. I hope he picks BYU for that reason.

Not that it matters, but Stout is LDS and plans on a mission.

Ho Ching is a run stopping stud that will help complete the linebacking corps for a long time.

As said above, I think he'll redshirt, go on his mission then dominate for 4 years.



I'd still like to get a juco lb for next season but Ho Ching is going to play a lot in the future.

He's apparently going to have a family conference tonight. He'll let the media know his decision after he tells his family.

I thought you could recruit them after a year...

LOIs are good for 18 months. But if he never enrolls, then he doesn't have to sit out a year.

If I understand, he's going to have an academic scholarship prior to his mission.

I just checked Scout.com - nothing posted yet. I'm holding my breath for this kid!!!!! I hope it works out. I really want him.
