Interesting post spring game comments

Anae: if our Oline got punched in the mouth last year, they would just fall over; Not this year, you want to get out of their way. (Not exact quote)



Anae: way ahead this year than last year this time.



Taysom: if we we're running at an 8 out of 10 right now, I would say last year at this time we were at a 4.



Bronco: OLBs Bronson and Fua are two future NFL potential players. (I think Bronson's big reveal in the fall is going to rock this D. I still content that he is a almost a Ziggy level athlete with a training and upbringing that gives BK a huge upside.)

I'm ready to drink the blue cool aide .

I always have, and forever will, drink the spring coolaid. Can't wait for next season!

Last year at this time we had the best DBs ever and the best receivers ever. So I will wait and see what spring and summer brings to take my first sip. I am very glad to hear bullish OL comments.

Last year we were a 4 but this year we're an 8? Every pre-season there's a different set of goal posts to shoot for so it's all tasty fluff. Taysom is my boy and all, but that statement means nothing to me.

Had to hear he whole interview. He described how last spring there was a whole new offense scheme, thin Oline, etc. makes sense actually. not just bravado.

Went to my first spring game yesterday, ended up focused on my grandsons in the clinic portion--at 11 and 9, their first introduction to LES and close up football. Don't have deep thoughts about any action in the game, for me it was the first step of THIS season. Go Cougs!

Then again, Jamaal changes things like crazy all by himself. So who knows?

Yes. #31, fourth string RB had most of the fumbles and missed blocks on blitzes. Oline looked better at times and backups looked out of shape and lazy at times.

Lapualolulaha :-) looks like a total stud. He didn't play much. But finally, we have a lineman who looks like a beast, like the old days. Famika Anae looked pretty impressive his last year just standing on the side lines and even on his swan song vs Hawaii. But between Lapu and Wesly, finally we are looking like a stud. Oline should look. I really think Anae might be optimistic, but the last five years of a wussy culture has taken some time to eradicate.

Defensive Side

There were several interesting injury updates in the DSB articles and others lately.



A senior safety who decided against surgery to repair a torn ligament and is instead relying on strengthening the muscles surrounding the ligament as his strategy to be in the best position to get NFL attention. High stakes decision.



A DL starter candidate out due to blood clots in his lungs. Wow. And expected to play. I had that occur one year - not diagnosed - then recur 3 months later. Could have killed me. High risk of causing a stroke - brain damage. Some on here probably think it did. Coumadin, anyone? The treatment turns you into a high risk for bleeding to death with any internal injury or major bleeding - due to not clotting when needed. If the clots were due to a recent surgery, then maybe he will not need to stay on Coumadin. High risk decision.



Then our LB turned RB turned LB. Oft injured. Groin injury this spring.



Matthews two hips? Are they fully recovered?
