MarsI want what's best for the MWC in the long run. And I think adding Boise State would be best for the conference. And I think to odds of adding them go up if they beat TCU in the Fiesta Bowl.
So...
GO BRONCOS!!!

I keep saying this, but I don't know that many believe it, but I really believe, unless some legal or congressional assistance comes into play, the BCS will find a way to prevent anyone from qualifying.
If you don't believe that, all you have to look to the screaming evidence just from yesterday where 1) the BCS had Cincinnati leapfrog TCU. That was just not a natural occurrence; and 2) they put both non-BCS teams in the same BCS bowl game.
People need to quit thinking life is fair and think that the BCS is going to be fair. Geez guys, people kill others for less money that we're talking about here with the BCS. Unless totally backed in a corner and/or forced to change things, the BCS will not reliquish their rights to any money.

If the BCS were THAT determined to stop the progress of "nonBCS" teams then BSU wouldn't have been invited. Virginia Tech qualified and could have been invited.
The reality is the bowl games don't care about each other, want to make as much money as possible.

Rasta you usually are the level head on this board and I respect you for that, honestly I do. But even you have to acknowledge there is something fishy here. Given the order of picks and your exact statement about the bowl games only wanting to make money, there is no reason at all for the Fiesta to have taken both non-AQs. They won't even come close to making as much money as any of the other BCS bowls this year. They had to know that. And so they are either just taking one "for the team" or there is some kind of backroom revenue sharing that will take place between the BCS bowls.

Part one of your statement=FALSE. The BCS knew that the outcry from leaving out a #6 team would lead to tons of momentum for the Anti-BCS argument and they don't want to do anything to risk their monopoly over the college football world. So, they did as much damage control as possible by putting the two ugly sisters in the other room by themselves.
Part two of your statement=TRUE. So why in the hell would a bowl choose two teams with tiny tv markets and small fanbases? To protect the cartel and hopefully not give either team any credit for winning a BCS game.

I don't see what's fishy.
The Fiesta will make money. Both teams asked for more than their 17,500 allotment for the game (compare that to WVA a couple of years ago who had to return a few thousand tickets).http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/15348/fiesta-bowl-wasnt-looking-at-the-non-aq-distiction
The remaining 30,000 tickets are pretty much sold out. So the game will be a sellout and that's the biggest worry when it comes to bowl organizers.

They say all the right things, but this really does a disservice to the non-AQ programs. They are denied a chance to play against "better" competition such as AQ teams. If they don't pull big numbers, it will hurt the MWC's chance of getting an AQ bid.
