KC torn ACL -BYU announces

I'm guessing he red shirts next season.

Well that sux.. Some one gonna have to setup big time.

BYU also announced that Kyle should be ready for fall......not sure if that's a good idea or not. We are already going to be short handed to begin next year and if Kyle red-shirts Chatman will likely have to play immediately and red-shirting Bartley likely won't be an option either

Surprised they announced it. I would have waited till after selection Sunday.



Hope he makes a quick recovery. More importantly I hope he doesn't push himself to much.

Usually getting in to the tournament isn't effected by injury, but seeding is.



KC could red shirt next year, but my guess is he plays.

I hope he doesn't follow his brother's example of coming back too soon and then have set back after set back

If Kyle has any idea of playing in the NBA, he won't be redshirting next year. He's already got the "older" knock for going to Russia for two years, sitting out another for an ACL would only hurt that goal.

Head of selection committee has been quoted in Trib saying that they absolutely do take injuries into consideration and that they had just received a report of one and would be following up on status.



It has been suggested that BYU, if they do make it, could get stuck with a play in game on DAYTON, Ohio vs the DAYTON Flyers. That would be typical treatment of BYU.

I am okay playing Dayton. It would be a good game. If we lose, it was because we lost KC. I don't think we would be blown out. They beat GU. If we win, we look good.

Given that our scores home vs away had a margin of victory spread of 16 points, I would much rather play Dayton in some other location than Dayton. Maybe Provo. Or at least someplace neutral.

Fell bad for KC. I'm hoping this is a different type of injury that was nagging for CC. didnt seem like his was an ACL.

Those are the FT % for BYU in its last 2 road games. Road games and neutral court games are different. In a road game, you get well organized fans distracting you while shooting free throws while your opponent does not.



A truly neutral court - fair game.

Neutral we lost by 11:

Swung 4 better vs Away

Swung 19 worse vs Home



BYU

Home to neutral: -19

Home to away: -23



Gonzaga

Home to away: -23



Playing in Las Vegas rather than Spokane made little difference to the Zags and BYU.

Playing in Provo made a huge difference vs Spokane or Las Vegas.



This is why BYU disappoints in road games and tournament settings away from Provo.

BYU gives up 34 Provo vs Away and gives up 12 Provo vs Neutral.





Full disclosure: SFU is an exception. BYU won by 5 in Provo, but even more - 7 - in SF. Neutral was a tie in regulation and a 2 point win in OT. The away game seems anomalous. BYU gives up 3-5 points on the neutral floor vs home, however depending whether you calculate on regulation or overtime scores.
