TJ Hawes 2014

What kind of player do we have here?

I'm guessing one very similar to his brother. Kid can score. Won't do much else. But in the game of basketball, scoring is a very sought after skill.



He looks to have the ability to do that in myriad ways. From three. Free throws. Driving. Mid-range.



He seems to have a great socring ability and touch. But I don't think he'll do much else (rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, etc.)

It says he handles the ball better. Not as good as a rebounder. Will he play the 1?

Probably will play the 2, which would be great. Been some years since we had a shooting guard that actually scores consistently.



If TJ doesn't rebound as well as his brother, that's saying a lot about his rebounding abilities because Tyler isn't much of a rebounder either.

TJ Haws is a much better ball handler than his brother. Tyler can't take 3 dribbles against a good press without nearly coughing the ball up. It's why Tyler doesn't shoot many FTs at the end of games I presume. He's going to get fouled or turn it over against a full court press.



Excited to see what TJ can do for the team. Everything I've ever read says they are both great shooters but that TJ is probably the more polished player.

The quote from Marty seemed to indicate that Tyler is better playing without the ball to get open and hit from almost anywhere with a quick release. He seemed to indicate that TJ plays better with the ball in his own hands.



Too bad mission timing will keep us from seeing a little Haws to Haws ala Stockton to Malone - well - sort of.

It would be cool to see them play together. But TJ has to put on some weight and strength. He is one skinny dude. Not bagging on him just sayin he will struggle with the physical play in conference.

TJ scored 42 last night. yes, it had Double OT, but he had most of his points in regulation. I may have to correct myself. He handled ALOT of physicality with a good Bingham team.

But, TJ plays a little bit like LeBron (not in his body) in his ability to do whatever is needed.

He can get to the rim, he can take the three and the deep three; he has a pull up J. He is a more complete player than Tyler. Again, different, bc heats better with the ball in his hands, like Jimmer, and Tyler better without the ball.

But this kid is a great player!!!

Frank Jackson is a special player as well. He will continue to blossom amazingly under Quincy.

And this big kid from Bingham who is only a sophomore with an "NBA body", according to Quincy. He is going to dominate. Youli Childs is a man child! I need to google him.

But, TJ, is going to be a great player for BYU--as if nobody knew that.
