I hope we destroy these guys. So who do you guys think Rose will start tonight??

My guess:

1 - KC

2 - Winder

3 - Haws

4 - Austin

5 - Luke - Rose said the he would have started Luke vs Gonzaga but he was nursing a sore shoulder.

Go with what works and keep the fire lit under Mika and Carlino and save some fouls in the process

I'm in favor of that rotation. Not what I would pick, but should do the job.

While I doubt Portland will be as hot as they were at the 3 last time, we're going to have to play tight on the perimeter. Repeat what we did against Gonzaga.

It will be so interesting to see who starts but almost more interesting to watch this little experiment of two of BYUs top five players coming off the bench.

I say let Luke pound on Van Der Schmuck (no reason to call him that other than it seemed fun and he destroyed us last game) to wear him down a bit and then release The Mika-Lino.

Bailey is doubtful. Other guard is questionable. Away game. Crowd juiced. BYU playing with conifdence. BYU by 20.

I agree that will be the starting lineup, but it isn't what it should be. Rose is doing his team a disservice by starting people in positions they shouldn't be starting in. I think we get smoked in the tourney because of this bad judgement. We got lucky that Gonzaga lost all semblance of discipline in the first 5 minutes of the game. They were much better in the second half, and Rose noticed it and pulled the ripcord about 2 minutes in.

We won't get that lucky again. It won't matter against Portland, but we can't throw non-starters out there against good teams and expect to come from behind and win. It is the exact opposite of what any credible coach does, and is completely stupid. "Let's throw our worst unit in there against your strongest, and see what happens!" It won't work for the long haul, and it possibly might meet its end tonight.

The starting lineup (as I have posted at least a dozen times already) should be:

PG - Carlino

SG - Halford

SF - Haws

PF - KC

C - Milka

with a healthy dose of Austin when KC or Mika get in foul trouble. This lineup allows us to go man and ditch the horrible zone defense.

Talk about hot. I'd watch it though. Rose is going to pull you out if you keep throwing up that garbage. Time to remember you are on a team Matt. ha ha.

Portland JUST passed BYU's first half score. with 10 minutes left in the 2nd half.

MC put on a clinic. Good for him.

Winder should have been getting all of Halford's minutes this season. At least Rose has figured that part out.

Winder and MC both improved sitting on the bench and earning minutes. Look at box scores from earlier games. Winder was not this good. Halford had 2 great games. Then defenses adjusted. Hopefully Winder will deliver on the road. Winder, Halford, and MC are all valuable. And wow - Winder has gone from an average at best FT shooter to a good FT shooter in 3 days. Hopefully he can do it on the road. BYU now has 3 players that can touch the ball late in close games. Now, Carlino just needs to step it up at the Charity Stripe.

Haws, Halford, Winder, MC, Austin - all seniors next season. KC a junior. Hopefully they all work on FT shooting over the summer.
