USF Discussion Thread

I know. The Olympics Have Started. But, there is also a BYU basketball game tonight. An important one. Partly because they are all important. Also because USF is tied with BYU for 2nd place. Saint Mary's and Pepperdine are not far behind. USF might be dangerous. They went off from distance and beat us in Provo last year. We beat them at their place a few weeks ago.



USF has played a ton of games at home and few away from home. And yet, they shoot free throws worse than BYU. Las Vegas predicts a 11 1/2 to 12 point BYU win. BYU won at SF by about 7. But, USF has won a couple of OT games on the road. They have looked good and bad at times.

Olympics are for wussies.

If we keep them off the offensive glass, we win by 20+, otherwise we win by 9-12.

We should be making more of those easy chippies, but all of the offensive rebounds so far are great

I only just started watching, but Worthington looks good on the boards. He's more aggressive than Mika in that regard.

Is it just me or is Austin going for more swats since Worthington began getting into the rotation? Our bigs have played wuss ball for too long. Play Worthington!

BYU shooting 38.7. ugh. That's about the only reason the dons are still in this one. BYU should have about 50 by now. Have had a lot of good looks. It's getting chippy out there. BYU nearly matched their offensive boards with turnovers (9).

This game is a recipe for disaster for BYU. They are getting beat in FG% and turnovers. Very few teams win these types of games if they lose both those stats. Offsetting is BYU's o-boards. FTs are another area that can keep a team in a game if they are losing FG% and turnovers, and we all know about that myth.

Mika has terrible hands in the post. I've never seen a player lose so many balls when turning his body.

FT line jumpers from KC are not going to get the job done in the 2nd half.

Austin could be our best player if someone would teach him how to shoot. He does everything else pretty okay for the most part.

Also needs someone to teach him (austin) that he doesn't need to volleyball spike on block attempts. You are 6'11" buddy. Just use that wingspan to get in front of the ball. No spikes needed. He gets a lot of fouls that way.



Otherwise, yes, I'm a big Nate Austin fan.

That FT by KC hurt my soul. Not enough near a straight shot. Karma I guess since he wasn't fouled.

More crap FT shooting keeping us from pulling away when it matters.

Austin with a putback dunk again?! Pope, teach this kid how to post up and score down low and we have a game changer.

Why doesn't BYU like winning games late? Somehow someway KC is always shooting FT's late. Bench HIM! This is a joke.

Dodged a bullet there. Great rebounding and clutch shooting. Pretty solid defense too. Still, though, some random dude always seems to get hot against us.



No excuse on the free throws. We got real lucky there. Even Haws shot around 50 percent tonight. We're in second place.

you might want to check Haws % tonight. Should have given it to Halford and Winder and crossed our fingers tonight.
