What Else Happened To BYU Basketball

We all know we lost Jimmer and Jackson after that 32-5 season the last year in the MWC. And those guys, for the most part, were supported by guys like Noah, Brandon, and Kyle Collinsworth.



We have had Noah and Brandon finish out and KC come back plus Haws, but we have never had as many solid pieces to the puzzle all at the same time. We dropped in over-all talent 2 years in a row - until this year. This year - inexperience notwithstanding - we strengthened the bench.



But, here we sit with 9 losses and counting.



What else happened.



Schedule.



We have played tough teams before. Just not as many. This year had a bunch - almost all away from home. We lost most of these. Texas and Stanford wins are the exceptions. But last year had its share of big non conference games. Maybe a couple less. But WCC got more dangerous this year.



2010/11 had Arizona in SLC - a win. @UCLA - a loss - I was there.



But that was it.



Like football BYU has started to step up the schedule even giving up home court.



Our W/L record reflects this.



We are blessed with big games on big stages - we usually compete - we usually lose.



The Big Time.



Anybody going to Maui next year?

My son is serving a mission in Houston. Basically North West. Spring, Texas was one area. Which area are you in.



I lived in Hawaii - Oahu - for 10 years. I never made it over to the Maui Invitational.



2014 just might be my year.

I am in the Cypress Area which is about 20 miles west of Spring. I would have to check but he is probably a couple of stakes away from me. Houston is a big place.

I know. There were three missions in Houston at the time he was called. President Pingree from Salt Lake City is his Mission President. My son loves President Pingree. I think Waller is another area my son served in.

I'm surprised no one mentioned with the topic "What else happened to BYU Basketball" we also lost Dave Rice to UNLV. I don't think our defense has been the same since. BTW Dave has a very highly ranked recruiting class coming in for 2014 with 3 top 100 picks.

cannot quantify it, but I think BY has been a bit off due to losing Dave Rice.
