WCC Unbalanced Scheduling

I have never seen a conference schedule the way that the WCC schedules. Reading comments from Coach Rose, other WCC coaches, and players, it seems that nobody cares for the way the WCC schedules. I find it crazy that BYU has played half of it's conference games and has yet to play two conference opponents in Pacific and St. Mary's. I feel bad for teams like San Diego and BYU who have played 7 and 6 road games in their first 9 games respectively. Yes, the back end of the schedule is "home" heavy, but at this point it might be a case of "too little too late". It appears TV drives scheduling and thus results in an unbalanced schedule. Hopefully the conference commissioner will listen to coaches and players and will adjust accordingly in seasons to come. Thoughts?

The scheduling is pathetic. We should have completed two season series before we've played six teams.

insult to injury with a tough OOC schedule. if this team made its FTs and defended the 3 a little better, it would be a tourney team and more than a one and done.

BYU will shoot free throws better. Opponents will shoot FTs worse. Expect the margin to improve 5 percentage points as a result of those 2 things.



BYU will shoot the 3 better. Opponents will shoot it worse. I expect the margin to improve by 10 percentage points or more in those 6 games as a result of those 2 factors.



Try to look at the bright side. Tournament Committees love a strong finish. NIT committee this year. BYU will finish the regular season strong, but stumble in WCC Tournament. Bet The Farm on it.

BYU will have a run of wins only because so many now will be at home. We'll all get hyped up and then once we're back on the road in the conference tourney things will end quickly and we're back in the NIT. Zero progress this season. Every position got worse or no better at all.

If BYU can't beat teams like Portland and Utah on the road, I'm not sure they deserve to be in the tourney, regardless of wanky scheduling.

You claim



Haws has not improved 1 bit

Carlino had not improved 1 bit

Austin has not improved 1 bit and

Collinsworth is not 1 bit better than Zylstra, Cusick, or the 2 JC flubs Delgado and what's his name



And Winder is not 1 bit better.



I will agree with none of that, but totally agree that Freshman Mika falls way short of senior Davies.

Four road games in a row? We're done playing LMU but haven't touched St. Mary's and others?



The WCC must have outsourced the scheduling or had the interns do it because it's the worst set of scheduling I've ever seen.



I don't see why it's so hard to schedule a once through with all the teams and then rinse and repeat.

Agree, everyone else does this and we used to as well. TV shouldn't be a factor, most of the WCC teams play on ROOTS TV or some weird satellite outfit, surely they can't be controlling our entire conference schedule.
