Hoffman a "Minor Disappointment" in Senior Bowl Practices

It appears he's being knocked around by the stronger, more physical DBs he's facing, and has been struggling for separation and falling down on routes

That said, I've never really understood the fascination with Hoffman. Good player, no question, but he never struck me as dominant.

Personally, Hoffman's always struck me as a gamer as opposed to a practice guy. His competitive switch just seems to *click* when the game is on and the ball is in the air. Never needed much separation to come down with the ball, so I think the "separation" critique may be misplaced--that's never been Hoff's game.



My only worry at this point is that the QBs he's working with don't understand his catch radius and ball-hawking ability, so he's not going to get thrown to on Sunday to demonstrate what he does best. Nelson and Hill knew that "when in doubt just huck it to Cody" and he'll make you look good regardless of how much separation he may or may not have.

Other reports completely contradict this. Hard to know how he is really doing.

The only other reports I could find mentioning Hoffman only mentioned that he stayed late after practice to run routes for Carr to throw to.

There were a number or people watching tweeting positive things as well.

Yes it is. But I wouldn't be surprised if a BYU receiver was having a hard time getting off blocks.

the original article/report also said he is a "slight build". that isnt accurate. separation has been a problem at times in press coverage.

I hope the Bears or the Cowboys grab him...

Cody excels in games. Given the mixed messages coming out of practice, likely the game is where he will prove himself.

I'm a Cowboys fan since White and Dorsett. But until we get a coach who can coach and an owner who will stay out of coaching I would rather not see any of the Cougars go play for the 'Boys. I'd much rather see him end up in Denver or New England with a QB that can make him look unbelievable while he makes them continue to look unbelievable.
