Jimmer's Recent Form

For three years now, many of us have been clamoring for consistent minutes for Jimmer and that his lack of consistent playing time was leading to his lack of production. It looks like that is finally happening.



In the last 8 games, Jimmer has played at least 11 minutes each game. The Kings are 4-4 (.500) and here is Jimmer's prodcution:

In the other 26 games, Jimmer saw sporadic minutes - logging 12 DNPs. The Kings were 5-9 (.357) in those games and 8-18 overall (.308) Here's Jimmer's production:

Like many of us have been saying, Jimmer CAN make the Kings better. He just needs more and consistent minutes.

Last night he had 11 points on 4-6 shooting (2-2 from three point land) and 3 assists in just 13 minutes. All this while IT went 2-13 for 9 points in 36 minutes and starting SG Thornton went 0-4 in 18 minutes.

Jimmer is playing the way (with consistent minutes) that he has played his whole career. The difference is now he knows there is not a DNP waiting for him if he does well.



He's having another great game tonight. 7 point and a couple sweet assists in about 5 minutes or so.

Last game, Jimmer had 13 points (5-9, 3-5), 3 assists, and 3 boards in 19 minutes. As his minutes go up, his performance continues to improve.

He got 20 or so minutes tonight. Not his best scoring performance, but it came against a stingy Pacer's defense. 9pts; 4 boards; 4 assists; 1TO.

He'd have had 2 more assists if the guys had finished around the rim. He's passing to the big slow white dude instead of DC so there's a built in disadvantage.

Did he just not take many shots - in which case this is a solid night for half of a game.



Or did he have a dozen misses?

Jimmer was 4-10 (1-3 from 3) so it was an off shooting night, considering coming into the game he was shooting .500 and .476 in the previous nine games. His +/- was -14 after being +38 in the last nine. His PAP, TS% and eFG% were all below .500 for the first time in four games as well.

Jimmer's offense has been very good lately. Hopefully some team takes notice and the Kings trade him.

Only 2 points last night, but only played 6 minutes. And he did have 2 assists.

Jimmer has played ok defense as well. He'll never be a great defender, but he rebounds ok for his size, so he finishes off defensive possessions that way.

At this point if I was coach of the Kings, I'd just replace Thornton's minutes with Jimmer.
