Halford had one good game as a starter and we're already hailing him as the savior of this team? We haven't seen him after consistent minutes nor against top talent. Not getting on the guy, but expectations should be tempered.
I suspect there will be some delay in teams' preping for Halford, waiting also to see if it was the best night Halford had to offer or whether just the beginning.

Not me. I am assuming we just saw a career night that will stand up until he graduates. But opponents did see that it you LEAVE HIM WIDE OPEN, he can shoot. Teams have been leaving the 3 wide open for BYU because Carlino was missing it even when wide open. They will make that adjustment immediately or right after he knocks down his 2nd wide open 3 at the latest. It mattereth not the quality of our opponent's defense if they choose to pack it in and ignore the 3.
BTW - San Diego was the leading defense in conference coming into that game - left the 3 open - paid dearly.
You may note that I predicted a close win unless BYU started hitting the open 3s. Predicted a blowout if the 3s started dropping.
Opponents have started to bank on missed outside shots and FTs. Cannot assume that now.
They will actually guard Halford. Not double. But they will put someone on him instead of packing that guy in to prevent drives or passes inside.
Teams can easily shut down one or the other. Different ballgame if you have both.
So, pray for Mika ' s hip - or we have little inside game.
I just expect Halford to hit above 35% on threes and near 50% overall and contribute over 10 as a starter. Any more will be gravy.
Add 10 plus from KC and 12 plus from EM and around 20 from TH and 15 from everyone else, as minimums and BYU just nerds to play defense.
