Not much to say. When you shoot that well and dominate the glass, you're hard to beat. Nice job turning the FG% around by BYU and adding some defensive pressure to boot.

I will go with sign of things to come. I was very impressed with the effort on the defensive end of the floor. Hanford not only went off scoring-wise, but he flat out did a number on Dees defensively. Carlino is going to have to come around for this team to go on a sustained winning streak as Halford won't do this night in night out. Nice win!

FT still left a lot to be desired.

WCC is a very competitive conference this season, especially the top 4-5 teams.

Don't know how much TH had to do with tonight's game scheduling, probably more of a WCC administrative thing.

Of course. I was just cursing the brutal non-conf stuff.

Yeah, I've never seen a BYU non-con schedule as difficult as that one. Glad that is over as well as the pepperdine/LMU away games. Gonzaga and SMC and possibly PAcific are going to be tough games. Will be fun to see how long BYU can keep their FG% up.

Of course it will fluctuate and BYU will look bad in some games, particularly vs better teams. But three things change this season:

1. Halford starting

2. Getting MC in check and playing within himself and not trying to be like Jimmer

3. Rose revamping the O scheme to actually run what looks like a D-1 team and not a church ball team on steroids that ended up running out of gas.



Now, get FT % up to 75-80 and keep our bigs from fouling out and this team might actually find its way back into a season that takes them back to the NIT.

Speaking of BIGS, for the 2nd time this young season - visions of what it would be without Mika flashed before my eyes. Next Year?



Mika inside with a PG who can distribute and shooters that can hit threes makes BYU tough to defend again.

My problem with the non-conference schedule is that there were just too many road games. Last night we saw a team that was glad to be back home. BYU needed more home games to keep their confidence up between the tough games against ranked opponents.
