New College FB Playoffs

I understand how the 4 playoff teams will be chosen. But what about the other bowls. Are they conference affliation or chosen by this committee? Will we have any chance to get in a big bowl?

Cotton Bowl — at-large

Fiesta Bowl — at-large

Chick-Fil-A Bowl — at-large



If anything, history has told us that those in power want to remain in power and with 7.3 billion TV revenue for 12 years, well that is a lot of power. I would bet that is how things play out.



Other bowls, or 4+1 goes like this.

Rose Bowl — Big Ten #1 vs. Pac-12 #1

Sugar Bowl — SEC #1 vs. Big 12 #1

Orange Bowl — ACC #1 vs. SEC #2, Big Ten #2, or Notre Dame

Its a year old, but more food for thought.



A question still is how the money will be dived up. How about allocating it based on the yearly tv revenue. So if the SEC earns 10% of total tv earnings they would get 10% of the playoff money. A pretty fair way to do it and BYU would do okay this way.
