Bring back Carlino

and play him all game. At this point it's clear we're actually worse off sitting Carlino. This is not a season-saving move, but it's a slight improvement now having seen the alternative. Carlino will have a couple good games still that get us a W.



The KC PG equation is this: Cusick - an outside shot = KC. Obviously KC is a much better player, but he is his betst self on the wing and around the rim. Not at the top of the key playing distributor. Time to end the experiment, Rose. I too was wrong.

Yes, please, somebody, psychologist, Mother Nature, heaven above--somebody bring back Carlino, bc he isn't even bi-polar. He's unipolar and horrible. But then again so is the team, so I get your logic.

I have to conclude that There are serious chemistry problems on this team. And I have to look straight at MC bc his game has been so schizophrenic. From jacking and chucking to high assists and turnovers, to whatever he's doing now, he is all over the place in terms of a manner of playing. And don't know what to say about Tyler. He is such a great kid, maybe he has lost the angry Tyler and as a result, has abdicated his leadership to the only player stepping up and that's KC. So, as a result, he doesn't fight hard to get open or get thru screens as he could bc Schizlino will just jack up a three or a commit a one-way trip to the Hole, if Ty ever turns his back long enough to get a play in.

THe other issue is I think this team is really gassed. That's exactly how they seem to be opening the last several games--almost like the last few seasons when Roses team have run out of steam. Brutal schedule. Should have been playing cupcakes like everybody else, mixed with only a few quality teams.

But as usual, I will beat the drum that this is the reason BYU doesn't and won't have the horses/depth to compete in big conferences! That and we start five white guys. Can that ever be a good formula? We are no better than Harvard or Yale right now. We are slow on D so we can't go man, can't run an effective zone, can't shut down permitted shooting bc our guys are gassed from GFGH.........BYU is a hot mess!!!

Oh, and still last nights poor performance after a special player meeting and special player/coaches meeting after loss to LMU.

Gotta bring in SMASH. Have to add something to this team. It is in dire straights.



CraigO, where are you? Need your educated opinion.

Carlino needs to play. He's a head case for sure but IMO he needs to be shown that Rose had confidence in him.



KC at the top of the key is not the answer. Neither is Halford bring up the ball.



This team got away from Rose and he's having trouble bringing them back.

Collinsworth has looked much better than I thought he would. I figured he'd be about like Zylstra running the point. I was wrong. He's much better. Having said that, Carlino is a much more pure PG, if he had a little more support and was taught not to bite off more than he can chew, he'd be a fine PG.

This is how Matt Carlino is like Riley Nelson. There is no telling him. He knows one way. Matt could be a great point guard if he didnt have a one track mind. He was evolving and now he has regressed and seems almost lost. Not sure he can change. Not sure he can be taught. Which seems almost inconceivable.

Good point. Mixing it up at pg would be better, IMO.

It's been fun reading the tweets about what Carlino is telling reporters. He's not comfortable as a 2. He's never been on a team that has lost 4 in a row. "I'm a point guard, that's what I am." etc.



Maybe he needed the little butt kicking/vote of no confidence, but this team needs him to be whatever it is he is because the alternate is much worse as we have seen. Put him at the 1 and ride him the rest of the season. It's our only chance.
