A. Cheer for BYU. Duh.
Fight Hunger Bowl: BYU over Washington
B. Cheer for the team playing Utah. If we need help from Utah in any way then it is not worth having.
Utah is staying home.
C. We have a remote chance of being ranked. Alot has to happen.
New Mexico Bowl: Colorado St. over Washington St. We have 3 common opponents with CSU. A stronger CSU makes us look better.
Vegas Bowl: #21 Fresno St. over USC. USC is receiving votes in both polls. A Fresno win drops USC out and strengthens the perception of the MWC of which 3 BYU opponents were MWC teams.
Idaho Potato Bowl: SDSU over Buffalo. Based on common opponents.
New Orleans Bowl : Tulane over Louisiana Lafayette. Louisiana Lafayette has a better record (8-4)
Beef O' Brady's Bowl: Ohio over East Carolina. ECU is 9-3.
Hawaii Bowl: Oregon St. over BSU. Even though BSU currently is not getting any votes in the polls record differentiation is important. They are 8-4.
Little Caesars Bowl: Pittsburgh over Bowling Green. BGSU is 10-3 and getting votes in both polls
Poinsettia Bowl: Utah St. over #24 Northern Illinois
Military Bowl: Maryland over Marshall. Marshall is 9-4.
Texas Bowl: Syracuse over Minnesota. Minnesota is 8-4 and receiving votes in the polls.
Pinstripe Bowl: Rutgers over #25 Notre Dame.
Belk Bowl: North Carolina over Cincinnati: Cinci is getting votes in both polls.
Russell Athletic Bowl: #18 Louisville over Miami. Miami is ranked in the coaches poll and getting votes in the AP.
Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl: Kansas State over Michigan.
Armed Forces Bowl: Middle Tennessee over Navy. Neither team would likely finish ranked, but MTSU winning would help the perception of BYU
Music City Bowl: Georgia Tech over Ole Miss. Same reasons as Armed Forces Bowl.
Alamo Bowl: #10 Oregon over Texas. Texas is receiving votes in both polls.
Holiday Bowl: #16 Arizona St. over Texas Tech. Texas Tech has received votes throughout the year. No need for them to steal votes with an upset.
Advocare V100 Bowl: Boston College over Arizona. Both teams have the same record, but AZ has a win over Oregon. An 8 win AZ team is more likely to steal votes from BYU.
Sun Bowl: #17 UCLA over Virginia Tech. VT is receiving votes in the coaches' poll
Liberty Bowl: Mississippi St. over Rice. Rice is receiving votes in both polls
Chick-Fil-A Bowl: #21 Duke over #20 Texas A&M. No matter who loses they will drop out of the poll. A 9-4 BYU would look better against an 8-5 TAM over a 10-4 Duke.
Gator Bowl: Nebraska over #23 Georgia. Nebraska is receiving a few votes, but if Georgia loses there is more room in the top 25 and more votes up for grabs.
Heart of Dallas: UNLV over North Texas. UNT has the same record as BYU. The less 9-4 teams the better.
Capital One Bowl: #19 Wisconsin over #8 South Carolina. Even if SC blows out Wisconsin, BYU isn't going to be ranked ahead of them. Might as well improve BYU's SOS.
Outback Bowl: #14 LSU over Iowa. Iowa is receiving votes in both polls
Cotton Bowl: #13 Oklahoma St. over #9 Missouri. We have no common opponents with Missouri.
BBVA Compass Bowl: Houston over Vanderbilt. Vandy is currently receiving votes in both polls Houston is not.
Go Daddy Bowl: Arkansas St. over Ball St. BSU is receiving votes in both polls.
Rose Bowl: #5 Stanford over #4 Michigan St. We have more common opponents with Stanford.
Fiesta Bowl: #15 UCF over #6 Baylor. We need to root for the "little guy" here. Don't want the "Power 5" to completely dominate.
Sugar Bowl: #11 Oklahoma over #3 Alabama. We have more common opponents with Oklahoma.
Orange Bowl: #12 Clemson over #7 Ohio St. Can you root for Urban Meyer? Neither can I.
BCS Championship: #1 Florida St. over #2 Auburn. The World needs to see a team from outside the SEC win the title.
Bonus: New Hampshire over North Dakota St. Yes NDSU is receiving votes in the AP. Let's cut that out.
Things have to go perfectly, but if the outcomes of the bowls go BYU's way, then BYU would probably be ranked.
