Our talent right now is a quarterback whose best attribute is his running ability and our running back. The West Coast offense doesn't use their abilities the way our current offense does.
More passes to JD Falslev and Skylar Ridley will not solve our offensive woes. The correct answer right now is to run the ball as much as possible and not a pass first type of offense.

Robert? Is that you? Why did you run twice inside the 10 on 1st and 2nd down at ND with the game still in the balance? What's that you say? Oh.....bc the passing game wasn't working? And why wasn't it working? Was it having Ridley out and JD limited? You can't say "no TEs"since you hardly used them when they were healthy. Ad while I'm at it, why did you run three times up the middle Vs Utah right after Jake drove the distance of the field?

Some problem. Different years.
BYU averages 3.55 yards a carry in the red zone. The guys who get the most carries are Hill who averages 5 yards per RZ attempt and Williams who averages 3.5 yards (almost all of it is on the run up the middle that supposedly doesn't work) per RZ attempt.
BYU averages 3.4 Yards per pass attempt in the RZ completing only 40%. I'm sure that is all on play calling and has nothing to do with Hill's slow decision making and innacurate passes. Taysom can't find our greatest WR in our history in the RZ, but he should be able to locate our equally outstanding TEs. :roll:
The real question you should be asking is not why he ran on 1st and 2nd down, but why did he throw on 3rd?
I've never understood the criticism of the last drive against Utah in 2010. Jake led the team down the field. True. Who called those plays? Does this fall under the 'if it worked it was because the QB audibled out of the play' theory?
Once we got into field goal range did Anae arbitrarily decide to run three plays up the middle to force a kick? Or did he adjust the play calling under the direction of the head coach LIKE EVERY SINGLE OTHER COLLEGE FOOTBALL TEAM DOES to set up the FG attempt.
Bronco is the one who pumped the brakes on that drive, not Anae.
