Poll - Record Going Into Conference Play

Conference play starts soon. BYU will have played 13 games prior to that and is 7-2 with 4 more games to play. IDK if we have been giving 2fers or 1 and dones, but we still have some tough road games.

Plus 1 home game where BYU will be heavily favored.



What will our record be going into conference play? Conference opponents look a little tougher this year.

9 wins plus or minus 1. Most likely 9-4. Utah is having a good year vs a very week schedule. Oregon and Massachusetts are both ranked and on the road.



Even if we end up with losses to

Iowa State

@Witchita State

@Massachusetts and

@Oregon



Those teams are all ranked and two are in or near Top 10 And 3 are road games.

Not sure U is better this year. BYU Is better than last year. JL is tough, but BYU walks away w the W.

not sure abut Umass or O.

Conference might be better mid to bottom. But top is weaker. Zags are even or down, even though ranked higher. SM is also down from last year.

I am predicting we go 3-1 over the next 4 to end up 10-3 heading into conference play. We beat U and split with UMass and Oregon. I think the win between those 2 comes Saturday in Springfield on a neutral floor. This has really been a solid OOC schedule this year which should bode well come March.

We have 18 regular season conference games after the 13 pre-conference games which makes 31 before WCC Tournament. Hopefully this team will do better than most past teams in conference tournament play.



We may need to win 2 in the WCC Championship Tournament to get to 25 wins before The Dance CCommittee passes out the invitations and seedings.

SMC is 6-0 playing a very weak schedule. The whole conference save BYU and Gonzaga have played weak schedules. And looking at those games I think we maybe split with Gonzaga and win the rest of the conf games.
