Is there any chance...

With Utah sucking at the QB position for a few years, that Utah goes after Brandon Doman for their QB coach?

Yes, he would. I think he'd love a chance to stay in Utah.

If the opportunity came up, I'm sure he would take it, but I really hope not. Whether Brandon was a good OC is a subject for debate, but one item I don't think was debatable was that he was an awesome recruiter. I wouldn't want him out there trying to herd kids to Puketah.

Brandon would take the job, he still has contacts on the hill.....is it likely I would say "no", but it is possible. Brandon is a heck of recruiter and he would bring an added wrinkle to recruiting. If I were KW I would be all over this.

Yes...not only is there a chance, but if Brian Johnson is not on Utah's staff next year, I think he's the likeliest candidate. One caveat to that though, he will not go there if he thinks Whittingham is done after next year.



Doman's father-in-law is a huge Crimson Club member. Brandon's wedding reception was at Rice Eccles Stadium. He doesn't hate Utah as much as some former players.

Also, Johnson is on staff next year at Utah because KW would have to admit it was a terrible move to make him OC when he did. The only way it he's gone is if Erickson tells Whit he wants to hire his own staff or he's leaving.

I think it would be a good move by Utah and I think Doman would take it.

I sat in his father in law's seats at last year's utah game. his father in law was the sideline referee so he sold his seat and we happened to buy them. we were verbally harassed by moron ute fans to the point where the son in law finally just let the lame ute fans have it. he said that he, a life long season ticket holder, gave the tickets to us and that we were with them and that he was acting like a loser moron. dude finally shut up. great guy. so his father in law and family are the type of ute fans you can appreciate. they are not all idiots.

Brandon Doman is currently in business with his brothers. When he left BYU he said he had various job offers that he turned down because BYU was the only place he had passion for. I wouldn't say he would never coach for the utes but I would be surprised if he did because he would have less passion for the utes than he had for the other places he turned down.

Well if he wants to return some day to BYU he needs more coaching experience.

exactly. his 'varous job offers' were coaching midvale middle school. they were nothing worth taking. he would coach if the right offer came along.

Norm Chow recently made waves when he said that maybe he (Chow) isn't cut out for the Head Coach position. That caused a lot of speculation as to who might succeed him and Kalani Sitake's name came up. Doman was asked whether he'd consider coaching with Sitake at Hawai'i. He said that if Sitake was offered the HI job, he would hope to get a call about being on the staff.



Certainly not definitive, but not dismissive either.

The quote I read said it would have to be a place that made the hair on his neck stand up or something like that. Ie not Podunk.



How is his business going? That would factor in.



And why does anyone think the QB coaching job is going to open up? Is it because Wilson has a pre-existing head injury?
