End of an Era - Jake Heaps?

A friend just texted me that KU is killing WVU in the 3rd quarter. Jake Heaps is not playing.



Where will he transfer next? He could play without sitting at a lower division school or if he graduates early, I believe he could transfer anywhere.



Barring injury to the new starter, KU probably invests in a different future at this point - a mobile QB with leadership and - dare I say - grit.

Wow. Too bad. Middle of the third quarter, Kansas w/ just 8 pass attempts - none by Jake.



Transferring once your college playing career has started is usually a poor decision. It seems to rarely work out. There occasions where it does. Or if you transfer before actually playing (Hall, Murphy, Hill, etc) it can work out. But it seems that if you have played and then transfer, players have a tough go.

Montell Cozart the true freshman who just beat Jake out of the starting spot is going to cement his place as the starter with this game. Up three scores with a quarter and change to go. KU hasn't won a B12 game in *how long*?

I think a lower-division school might suit Jake well.

I think that's because those who transfer after they start are transfering because they aren't making it.---usually for a reason.

Some would argue that the Jake Heaps era ended when he left BYU.

Bright kid? I'm not so sure. He's done some bizarre things in his collegiate career. Good kid, I'm sure, bright... the verdict is out for me.

He is bright. Common sense and good judgment - not so much. Ego was a huge part of that. Football fed that ego. Bubble burst.

I was never a big Jake Heaps fan but anytime you invest/sacrifice as much as he(or maybe it was his mother I don't know or care really) did and the dream turns to crap .I cant help but feel just a little sorry for him.

Agree. Not sure what his major is, but generally, a degree from KU is a valuable one.

That was quick. Iowa State shut Cozart right down and Jake Heaps may have gottem his job back with a 7 of 19 performance. He came in during Q3. Not sure if this is a permanent change.
