He needed to be getting experience and reps. Hope he will be available for spring.

Meanwhile, receiver Mitch Mathews sustained a season-ending shoulder injury against Wisconsin. According to Hurst the damage to Mathews’ shoulder is significant and will require surgery.

That's bad news.

Big loss. Time to see how much depth we have at receiver. Mitch's brother was highly recruited out of high school and has a similar build. He has been buried at TE for years, couldn't he step over and play receiver?

It is a shame that Apo has not turned out.

Maybe we should pull up that old post from August - Best Receivers We Have Ever Had - and see if someone has slipped through a crack.



We not only lacked depth at receiver, but TE as well, and our backs other than falslev in the slot have not been consistent at catching passes. And you canno throw to linemen.

I certainly have not been impressed with Houk. i can't even remember a time when he caught the ball when it was thrown to him. dropsies.

Losing two starting receivers hurts no matter who you are. Mahina could make 3 receivers out. What happened to Thorton too.

I saw him targeted twice in a row vs Bucky. He caught the 2nd one after dropping the 1st.

Kurt Henderson (So.) - 6-1/180 - 2 receptions for 69 yards. Caught a career-best 60-yard pass in win over Utah State, 2013

Colby Pearson (Fr. walk-on) - 6-0/190 - No stats.

If used properly, that statement means that someone not getting PT on defense or at RB is going to swap over to receiver or tight end and make something happen. Ie a resource from another coach.

I heard this statement and thought "Ziggy Ansah". I'm positive we don't have another "ziggy" waiting in the wings, but I'm sure someone will step up. Maybe a better comparison would be Algie Brown when Alisa went down.
