Official Idaho State Prediction Thread

Ok. Just a reminder. It is not a bye week and ND is not next.



Idaho State Bengals



Fight like a tiger?



More like a spud.



They are bad. How bad?



BYU is good. How good?



Hard to predict. Will we run it up? Get key injuries like Riley vs Weber State? Reserves play most of the game?



Thoughts and logic go here.

My preference is to treat this game much like the NFL treats an early pre-season game: First stringers get at most 1 1/2 quarters, preferably the first qtr only. Then second stringers get 2nd and 3rd and the rest get the 4th. I'm confident we win. We have nothing to gain with style points and a lopsided score. We have everything to gain with further improving the timing between our receivers and our Taysom. I think Jason Munns and a few others deserve to see the field.



Wasn't it Weber State (not much different from ISU) that we played when Riley got hurt? Let's not see that happen again please coaches!

Yes it was Weber. I prefer Olsen over Mumms. Mumms should tie up the shoes and give the future a chance for experience for next year.

I know. Idaho State. Nobody cares. But me.



This will be the toughest game to predict of the entire season. By far.



BYU is probably capable of GFGH to the tune of 16 possessions and scoring on every single one of those. But they will not. Can't go to a fireside the night before and then shamelessy humiliate them like that. Foolish to risk starters beyond 35-0.



BYU is capable of shutting Idaho State Out. Bronco might be less merciful on defense. Even, so. He is likely to play deep into the bench.



Same for special teams. Get some guys ready for next year. Reward Rudy - whomever that may be.



Will Bronco put in Olsen and let him show he can throw or just run Hine and Brown up the middle over and over again.



I hope Spiff provides data just for fun, but this is probably the week where you can throw the data out the window.



I hope Anae has Hill and Williams break a couple of huge runs early for over 100 yards each and Hoff for a quick buck 25 and 2 TDs and then turn the kids loose.

IMO Bib this could be one of the easier games to predict. A lot vs a little. Byu should score between 40-60 points. ISU could score between 0-20.



With Hadley and Jorgenson out and coming off a physical game, Byu's backups at LB are REALLY green. I could see us giving up over 10 points no problem. I wouldn't be surprised to see us give up as much as 20, with many coming later in the game.



On offense it's easy; Byu will roll. Cody Hoffman on senior night is gonna add some buffer room on the all time record books. Jamal and Taysom will get their 100 yards rushing.



My guess(which i will probably change) is BYU 52 ISU 16

The problem is if you are off by 10 you get zero in the prediction game and the prediction game might be the most exciting thing going.

Pick 13 on defense, covers just about everything but a shutout.

I know that. But if you project 50 and we have mercy and only score 42 - I only get a point or two.



I agree that the approach should be to predict the midfle of the likely range. The range is just too wide.

Well my stratagey didn't work for the 7th week in a row by picking the Badgers. They did actually win making my record for the season 2-7. The only other win that I picked was the obvious MTS game. Same goes here. I can't even fool myself into typing anything than a major Cougar romp.

I predict the game to be essentially over shortly after BYU's first offensive possession.

BYU will kick off - into the endzone. ISU will 3 and out.



ISU will have its punt blocked by KVN who will pick it up and score.



This will repeat over and over and the BYU Offense will never see the field.



More seriously. UW popped them about 56-0 and that is the only ISU opponent even close to BYU in ability.



They actually have some wins and respectable losses vs peers. They may be better than Idaho this year. Let me rephrase. Idaho may be as bad as or even worse than ISU this year.

I was just kidding by the way. i do agree that i don't care about this opponent. i am going to hte gamea nd it will like be freezing and raining. so excited.



i just hope that the coaches reward us for coming out by having the scrubs try and run the same offense the ones run instead of just running it up the middle.

This. The best way to help our defense earn a shutout, will be for our offense to finish every drive with points and then kick it out of the endzone.



ISU 1st and 10 at the 25. They will not be able to sustain drives.
