I promise this isn't a personal attack, just wondering why there is currently 5 different threads that have nothing to do with byu other than they have played or will play byu, and 2 threads that have nothing to do with BYU at all ("LSU vs Alabama", and "will Florida be bowl eligible?")



I go to espn to see scores and highlight videos, and come here for byu talk. I could care less about discussing asu vs :utard: . Not trying to sound mean, or aggressive. For honest. :)



I'm worried about bumping relevant discussion topics to the 2nd page just because of the sheer number of update threads, and i have noticed that happen in the past. Is there any chance to do those in one? Like a "How Byus opponents are doing week 11" thread? Or like Boise does a "Bottom 5 and other miscellany" thread?

Not sure if you noticed but there is not much talking going on about anything. And all it takes is one comment on any thread you feel is more relevant to pop it right to the top.



Nobody wanted to talk much about these topics either. You will note that after posting final game results, I quit posting. So, they die quickly if there is no interest.



Someone else posted the one about Florida State - probably because they thought it was interesting.



I put Florida up there just to show that even with only 5 road games and only 4 out of state, and none out of the region, even SEC Powers struggle some years.

Rapid accumulation of post tally.



Oh and Blue, try not to waste anytime on pre-qualifying any hurtful intents. He doesn't care. He won't stop. In fact, he may just increase the number just to stir your pot.

They might die quickly, but before that they push other topics onto the second page, which is the same thing as death. Maybe people aren't posting about anything because when they get to the main screen they don't see anything about BYU football.



That was the same for me today. When I got to the main page to see what threads to comment on, there were 7 from you that didn't have anything to do with BYU taking up the page.



Since thorough discussion is the thing that drives this site, the opposite of that (hollow threads without any discussion that don't have anything to do with byu football) can actually drive away interest from the site.



The reason that I use this site primarily (instead of others) is because of the great discussion found here with the posters, and its easy to read format. Once you take both of those out of the equation, then you have created an inferior product out of something that was once superior.

I went back to page two after I read this and found nothing of interest other than the two that I already commented on to bring up top.



Perhaps you and Cougs Rule could go back 2 or 3 pages and see if either of you can find anything of interest.



Then pop it to the top. I found nothing.



No new threads either other than this one.

That is the point. You found two interesting threads that got pushed back to page 2 after all your other threads. If users were polled, I think that 90% of them would say that they never go to page 2 (the reason I know this is that when threads go there, they die with almost uncanny regularity).



I'm just saying that if you could take all 8 of those threads you made about scores and pile them in to just 1 thread, that it would make the site more interesting to read. I am sure that the moderators agree with me, and I think that most of the users would, if given an honest poll.

Click on Read Unread Posts to see the most recent topics. It makes life easier for me.

We both noticed the same issue but handled it differently. The place wenr moribund after the loss. After previous losses, it was the opposite. Tons of new threads because posters felt we lost to teams we were supposed to beat.



With Wisconsin, everyone seems to recognize that we lost to a better team. And they moved on.



So I started some new threads. Nobody else did. Anyone could. I am not trying to argue. These threads are here. I do not have any ability to combine them. Mods can feel free to do so. I will not be offended.



At the time I was creating them games were in various stages, some done, some just starting, some halfway.



I made them separate, so posters could easily pick one they wanted to talk about - and then have the comments for each game in their own place.



But as I keep saying. At this point, water under the bridge, create a new post if you think there is something people want to talk about. It will go right to the top.



Then go to your email if you get emails like I do anytime anyone posts on a thread. Click on those links. Post a comment. That thread will pop to the top.



But after the game people quit posting on any existing threads even though they had email reminders because those threads had run their course.



Pop anything to the top that you want.



It is Idaho State Week and we just lost. Expect a really quiet week.



I will go back and try to breathe life into any that had any life.



But help us all out Blue. Go to page 2 and pop up anything there where you think something got lost in the shuffle.

I just noticed that Scott created several new threads. They go right to the top. That is how it works. Any thread that creates interest will go right back to the top any timw anyone comments. Survival of the fittest. That is how it works.



I am happy to see the new threads now that the new polls are out. Some fresh new threads. Hopefully they will get traction.

CougarBib. Agree to disagree. I think that good talk is generated by not spamming threads.



I will have to try the "Read unread posts" as I haven't used that feature. Is that something a lot of people use, and what is your experience with it?

I read virtually everything and I can see which posts are new. A few threads are ridiculous and I just go to the end of the post.
