LeBronson may RETURN!!!!

I guess Rose said at a lunch at SLCC today that Bronson and his dad are on board with his return to the B-Ball team this year. I say bring the PAIN!!!

Really? Thought we were done with that experiment.

I hope not. IMO, Bronson wasn't good enough in football this year or basketball last year to be able to be a dual-sport player. He needs to focus on one - football.

We could probably use his size this year; hopefully won't need to rely on him as much as last year. I don't think bball hurt his football season. Was he going to work harder in the off season Jan-April playing BBAll or whatever football prayers do for the months immediately following their season?

I love it. Every major story needs a sub-plot. He may not be the most respectable hoopster, but our big men need depth, size and fouls to give.

I do hope it doesn't hurt his football development.

We will need him. Mika will have foul trouble. Austin is not strong enough to defend the post. And Worthington looks to have potential but may not be quite as ready as BYU needs.

And KC, while fine at the four vs smaller teams, will not, and I have stated this previously, be able to defend bigger fours in the WCC. This team may not need him as much as last year, but not by far. He will average similar minutes this year. And some players will not come to the paint with him enforcing.

Might not be the last Kaufusi to play hoops at BYU. Word is that Corbin is close to 6'10" now.

Yes. Longer and leane and a better balled in HS. Not sure how much skill overall he has, but he led his Al depends on depth at BYU and how much bread fruit he eats on his mission--oh, oops, I mean Kim chee. Big difference in weight gaining food. ;-)

Too bad this isn't Corbin. Can you imagine being 6'10" and looking like this guy? In truth, I think whoever wrote this article confused Corbin for Michael Alisa.



But, to point, he does have game. He had some great games as a HS player.

I hope Bronson can develop a tiny bit of an offensive game this year. Is Corbin at 6'10 to tall to play OL now?

I look at it this way. He may not see a lot of playing time but think of the toughness he brings every day on the practice court. That's a valuable tool in my mind. I think toughness is something the younger players need to learn and he can definitely toughen them up.

To be fair to Bronson, if there are any detractors to his productivity this year, is that he is having to chew up blocks as much as anything else. This 2-5-4 defense certainly highlights the LBs.

I thought it was interesting in the DN article on Marques Johnson that Taliuli was getting some reps with Manu and MJ being the Big three guys on the line. With a predominant running attack this week. Those three will get ALOT of reps. BK may be used more for passing downs.

Regardless, BKs frustration should be primed to take out on padless miscreants in the WCC. :evil:

How much of an offensive presence can Bronson bring to the team this season?? I wonder how much he worked on his hoops game this off-season?? Hopefully a little if he plans on playing again this year

I wonder if we just don't need him this year.

I think we could use him when Mika gets in foul trouble, which doesn't appear to be an uncommon occurrence.

We had to use Sharp a few times due to foul trouble and I would gladly give his minutes to Bronson

Bronson is a perfect fit for blocking out PF or C and allowing KC, Austin or Haws to Get rebound and trigger fast break. His rebounding and defensive presence will be a welcome addition.

Doesn't hurt to have him on the team. He's a load and someone that opposing coaches have to plan for. Remember he had mission and football legs last year. He should be remarkably better and smarter, but he's also a tremendous enforcer and the entire team would be happy to have him around.



The only player on the team I'm really disappointed with is Josh Sharp, it's clear he didn't spend a minute in the weight room or improving his game (and he's got another year of eligibility left). If I were 6'7" and with his springs I think I would either add weight or add a jump shot post mission at some point in my progression (or both), he's done neither.

Don't know if he's D1 good but he could be an amazing tackle if he puts on the weight that the Kaufusi's naturally do post mission. Their dads, uncles, and cousins have no trouble getting beefy in their 20s.
