Has us 3rd. I don't know about that. Plus including us in midmajors.

If Louisville, TCU, and the Utes are, merely by conference affiliation, no longer mid-majors, then BYU likewise cannot be called that. A major independent, having no conference, can only be characterized by its schedule and W/L record. The author pretty much admits that, and then uses the demeaning label anyway. Further, he tries to justify it by saying it fits BYU's sensibilities, and pleads that there's nothing wrong with it, that its an innocently neutral description. Uh, RIGHT. His type of people seems so concerned that BYU might end up with a Notre Dame kind of status regarding bowl consideration, or, gasp, a shot at yet another NC game sometime.
