SpiffCougHere are my RER results from the Boise game and other statistical observations.
You'll have to forgive my more frequent absences from the board. Since the gov't shutdown, connectivity at work to CougarCorner hasn't been restored. Hopefully this week, I'll be able to return to my obscene amount of time spent on this site.
As always game RER followed by season RER in parentheses. And remember, RER is an imperfect formula taken by applying the PER formula to receivers.

- 3rd Down passing was much better this week than vs Houston. The 165.11 PER on 3rd down was a season high. It was the highest since BYU posted a 236 vs New Mexico St last year.
- Blue Zone passing continues to be a struggle. While we did through for our 6th Blue Zone TD, it was our only completion. The season Blue Zone PER is 108.47.
- As I posted in another thread, Hill has a PER of 155 or higher in four straight games. Nelson had a four game (really three and a half since he only played half the game vs Utah St) stretch in 2011. Max Hall had a stretch in 2008, and Beck had one in 2006. No one has had a five game stretch since Detmer had six in 1991.
- The four opponents during Hill's streak have a .633 winning pct. Hall's opponents were .449. Beck's were .408. Detmer's were .426. That makes Hill's streak that much more impressive. It's come against four good teams.
- BYU is now 17 yards from the 2nd most under Bronco and 115 for the most in any season under Bronco.
- BYU is now +1 in turnovers - including +6 the last four games.
- The team with the better PER has won six straight games, and 28 of the last 30.
- Bronco improved to 3-1 vs teams w/ a black helmet.
