I agree with Hughes and Kerley, but I have a hard time with Dalton as the first-team quarterback. Then again, Hall didn't do himself any favors with his comments two days before the ballots were filled.



The biggest surprise is that George got second team. I absolutely agree with the selection, but I didn't think they would even have his name on the ballot. Well-deserved, and I don't think I have ever seen a team sweep the TE positions in all-conference balloting. Big shoes to fill....big shoes.

Interesting the way it shook out. It's hard to argue many of the guys on the first team except for Dalton who just happened to be the QB on the conference champions. Again, if Hall had had a better game against Utah and had kept his mouth shut, maybe he would have made it?



Dalton definitely didn't deserve OPOTY though.

I agree, to many times these awards are given only if the team did great, not the player. (IE sometimes they don't give POTW to the best POTW, but a good player, that his team won.)

What's scary is that we might very well only return Matt Reynolds, Andrew Rich, Brian Logan and Riley Stephenson.



9/13 of our All-MWC guys could be leaving, but 8 for sure.

Brian Logan got jobbed. He is one of the national leaders in passes defended. He should have been at least second team.

I don't know. As between Hall and Dalton, they are statistically very close when looking at their efficiency (Hall is #4 at 160.9 and Dalton #7 at 159.6). TCU has always played good defense, but this year their offense was one of the best in the nation. They are #4 in scoring offense and #5 in yards per game. BYU is #13 and #20 in those categories. As the leader of the TCU offense, I think Dalton deserves the recognition he has received.



Dalton is the efficient leader of a prolific offense and has led his team to a 12-0 record. I think that's impressive enough for him to be the OPOTY. I'd vote for him. It's too bad the TCU didn't promote him better for the Heisman, the Maxwell, the O'Brien, and the Unitas trophies. He really deserves more national recognition that what he's getting.
